I thought I knew how this was going to end but there were several twists that I did not expect. Highly recommend.

Not the greatest story ever, but it does keep you guessing. Every time I was sure I knew who the murder was, something disproved them. In the end I was surprised.

If you love dogs, this book is for you. It starts off a little slow, but each time the dog is reincarnated, the story gets a little more interesting. By the end, you can't put it down, and if you are like me, have gone through a lot of tissues. Very good story, but don't read for a while if you have recently lost a fur baby. I lost my dog of 15 years three weeks before reading this and it brought up so many feelings. Wait a couple of months if you have has a recent loss, or you will just be a big puddle of tears.

The narrator was excellent. He sounded just like I imagined a dog would sound. Really brought the dog to life.

I had such high hopes for this book. I really loved another book by this author, and it got great reviews, but I don't know why. It was so slow and boring. I would have probably stopped listening by chapter 5, but based on the reviews, I thought it would get better. I kept listening and was hard to keep paying attention. Finally the book ended and all I could think is "there goes 11 hours of my life I will never get back".

After the first couple of chapters I thought this was really going to have a stupid ending. But that was just building the story. As the story progresses you get pulled in. Every time you think you know who did it, another piece of evidence pops up so you think it is someone else. I was completely surprised at the end. If you like suspense, this is a great book.

This book was great. I was not a big Trevor Noah fan until now. I knew about Apartheid, but living in America I really had no idea what it was about. It was racism on steroids. But this is not a depressing book from an angry black man. It is just the opposite. Trevor details growing up under these horrible rules, with a sense of family, God and a great sense of humor. There were parts where I laughed until I cried (like the story about Hitler - teaser). I hope you will read or listen to this book. I don't think you will be disappointed.

I really had to pay attention to the book as the narrator was slow and monotone. I think this particular book would have been better if I read it. The main character had a very sarcastic sense of humor, which I enjoy greatly. But the narrator was so slow and took pauses in weird places. A couple of time, I had to check my phone to see if the playback had stopped. It had not, it was just a long pause.

If you can listen "around" the narrator, it is a good story. If not, you should read the print version.

Keeps you guessing for about half the book, then you know who the killer is. However, you keep trying to figure out why. Good mystery as Eve and her team take down another one.

I would have given a higher rating if the story was just about the child that needed treatment, but the parents refused treatment based on religious beliefs. That part was well written and interesting. Unfortunately the rest of the story is based on the story of the judge and I found it tedious and boring. I think it is worth reading, but not the best book ever.
