Record of a Spaceborn Few: Booktrack Edition adds an immersive musical soundtrack to your audiobook listening experience. Centuries after the last humans left Earth, the Exodus Fleet is a living relic, a place many are from but few outsiders have seen. Humanity has finally been accepted into the galactic community, but while this has opened doors for many, those who have not yet left for alien cities fear that their carefully cultivated way of life is under threat.

Not about this book specifically, but the direction the trilogy took; it was almost unrelated to the first book. Maybe I should have known that but I normally avoid spoilers. Anyway the two sequels are fine but I wish it had been a traditional trilogy. Neither approached the first book imo

The vocal performance is way over the top, like a reading volunteer at the local library trying to make the job interesting. The Williams score clips that make up the background just highlight the melodrama in the dialogue to the point of absurdity. I swear I wanted to like this.

I didn't know anything about the book, but I trusted the positive reviews and I'm glad I did. The Bobiverse has so much potential - I bought the sequel about an hour into this book.
