I read this book back when it first came out. Now my kids are reading it and I decided to revisit this great tale. Sadly the narration sucked. The only thing I can recommend is to listen to it at 1.25 or 1.50 speed. Especially at the beginning. Later on the narration gets a little better. Unfortunately it requires at least 1 star but if I had my way it would be 0.

I work for a Public Defenders office and this book perfectly encapsulates some of the struggles we face daily. It was a great exposure to the world of those less fortunate.

I tried this book on a whim and I was not disappointed. It was very good and sent me on an emotional rollercoaster. However, I do feel like it was a bit rushed. I feel like the author very easily could have explored the main character's life a lot more to give the book more substance. Overall, a worthy read.

I read this book years ago shortly after it came out. I had forgotten how outraged I was when the movie had come out. The hatchet job the movie did to this book just reignited my hatred of Hollywood even more. I’m rereading/listening the Jack Ryan books in chronological order, so it’s off to Sum of All Fears. Another hatchet job done by Hollywood. I can wholeheartedly recommend this book. Michael Prichard is excellent and breathes life into this American classic.

It took me a while to get into and warm up to this book but once I did, I was hooked. I've read other books translated to English but this translation was stellar. It was as if Charles Dickens had transported in time to lend his beautiful eloquence to a modern-day story. The narrator was superb. His characterizations and narrating was perfect and could even rival that of Roy Dotrice or Jim Dale. Fantastic story! Woo-Hoo!!!

This was a fantastic story and I'm so excited for more from her character. The narrator was bland and didn't grab my attention. The writing was the saving grace. If you can, save yourself from the recording and read the book on your own. It was fantastic!

I thoroughly enjoyed this novel. The writing was very slow at times which made me lose my concentration. I'm not usually a fan of abridged works but I feel like this one would have been more enjoyable if it were abridged.

As I was reading, I started to feel like it was a carbon copy of literally every other psychological thriller. In a way it was but the twists that were incorporated gave it a very fresh feel. Great book.

This was a fantastic book. The writing was very good. The intrigue was very good. I just wish there was more. I felt that the author was talented enough that he could have written a longer novel with more to it but overall, I enjoyed it. Working for a law office in Salt Lake City made it even more enjoyable.

At first, the book seemed to be a carbon copy of The Poet by Michael Connelly (another great read). However, as time went on, the story changed and took many fantastic twists and turns. Great read.
