There's a turning point in every war, but I didn't expect this one to be in my front yard. Allies of the Fae king have moved against the military stationed in Saint Charles. Our unsteady alliances are threatening to fracture, providing the water witches and vampires an opportunity to strike. With losses on both sides, things are far more dire than we realized, and the return of a long-forgotten enemy has made that clear. Thankfully, I know a very grumpy parrot.

This book kept me on the edge of my seat from page one all the way to the end. I’m exhausted just listening to Damien’s adventures. I am quite impressed with the way the author weaves in crucial information and foreshadowing while keeping the action moving nonstop. The narrator does an amazing job giving each character a recognizable voice.

Rainbow Key - an idyllic island retreat off the west coast of Florida. Think wedding destination, white sandy beaches, lurve…except at the moment Joshua is struggling to pay the electricity bill, they’ve no paying customers, and even if they did they can’t afford the repairs from the devastating hurricane that struck three years ago – and to top it off they have to take in Daniel, a grumpy businessman who has been ordered by his doctor to take some time off before he has a heart attack from too much stress.

This is an awesome start to a new contemporary series by Victoria Sue. Daniel is in desperate need of a relaxing retreat and Rainbow Key is just the place, or is it? Joshua is struggling to keep his small family safe and to keep Rainbow Key operating. The two are perfect for each other, but will they realize it?

Darcy Stark’s narration is perfect for this story.

She knows the protocol and regulations that define her existence as heir to the Winter Throne aren’t for everyone and worries it will be more than he wants to handle. All seems well until a weird coincidence in a toy contest has some of the citizens of the North Pole giving Sinclair the side-eye. He’s a necromancer, and not everyone is okay with that.

This is the second book in an hilarious, snarky paranormal series. While there are plenty of laughs, the author did a great job of combining them with angst, pain and anger to create an entertaining, hard to put down story. BJ Harrison lends even more depth to the story with his on point narration.

To say that I always enjoy a book by Victoria Sue just doesn’t cover the gamut of emotions that she challenges her readers to experience. The Alpha Prince is no exception. While I was a bit concerned with how the new narrator for this series would do, I’m quite happy to say that Michael Pauley did an amazing job. I think he is an improvement over the previous narrator who did a very good job as well.

Some people are unforgettable. Like the first sheriff that pulled you over for speeding. The first person to kiss you senseless on the hood of a car. And the first guy to make you orgasm. But when all of those things are from the same man, let’s just say unforgettable doesn’t even come close. I wonder if he ever thinks about me and everything we almost had. Oh, he remembers, and he’s prepared to put his money where his mouth is....
