I was so amazed at the beautiful way Amy wrote this tale. She is one of the most in tune with my feelings of the beautiful world and heavens that surround us authors that I’ve read on the last few years. The story was so well told that I had to listen to several parts several times to enjoy it again The fact that it is a beautiful romance is only a small plus to the well told tale.

A wonderful story. It was well narrated and carried interesting, thought provoking messages about listening to our children’s problems more closely. I enjoyed listening pretty much straight through.

Rene is one of the smoothest narrators I've ever listened to. He obviously knows this material. I would definitely buy any future works of his.

I will admit I gad a bit of a struggle with this wonderful book in the beginning. Not my usual type of listen. I kept on listening and began to realize how well the characters were being developed and the story was evolving. By the end I couldn't stop. The descriptions of the artwork was tremendous and the juvenile struggles the characters were faced with took me back to my own childhood and all my foibles. The finale was pleasing and made one wonder how the story might have continued with these interesting characters.

I felt the performers did a fine job. If anything the director could have tweeted a few scenes a bit switching too quickly between male and female voices and Russian accents not quite sounding right in the switch.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I would recommend it for Bradbury fans. Due to nostalgia.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

For its day this was a captivating story and I would not recommend any changes.

Which scene was your favorite?

All of the scenes on the carousel were quite appealing to me.

Could you see Something Wicked This Way Comes being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

That sounds interesting and do-able to me. I can only imagine new arising young actors as the two boys and some older popular actor like Bill Paxton as the dad. The Carnival owners could be someone like Tom Waites or Gary Oldman.

Any additional comments?

I recalled my own childhood in around this time the boys were in and can picture that kind of experience enriching my childhood.

Where does The Neon Rain rank among all the audiobooks you???ve listened to so far?

Neon Rain ranks in the top 70% of all the audio books I've listened to (well over 200).

What other book might you compare The Neon Rain to and why?

I would compare This James Lee Burke Novel to ones by Lee Child or John Sanford, such as the Affair by Child or Bad Blood by Sanford since the authors do such a good job of making the story come to life by their vivid descriptions of what the characters are experiencing.

Which scene was your favorite?

The scene where Detective Robicheaux is banging bad guys around with a bag of heavy washers etc. was my favorite.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

This was a book that I would have listened to in one sitting if I had the time. As it was it took me two days of listening and working outside with my spring planting.

Any additional comments?

I could almost taste the PoBoy sandwiches that the character s were eating and feel the cool breeze blowing across Dave's house boat on Lake Pontchartrain.
