Once upon a time, a girl loved a boy and he loved her back. They lived happily ever after. But our story was never that simple. I loved Josh with all I had, right until the day he left. Now, all these years later, he was back - and wanting me the way I'd always longed for him. Except now, I belonged to someone else. Someone who never left me the way Josh had. I figured that was the end of our story. I couldn't alter the past. I didn't want to rewrite my future.

I wanted to like this so much, especially since I love the original Cake,The Theory of Second Best and Fiercely Emma because they are such an amazing books, but this one felt rushed and simple, but this was a huge disappointment. It read much like a YA book. I know the author put her heart and soul into it, but this missed the mark all the way around.

The story was good. It kept my interest from the first pages and I was sad to see it end. I would love to see more about these characters!
P.S. The MALE narrator was terrible, BUT, if you can get past his stiff delivery, you can just enjoy story. I wanted to shut it off after the first chapter because he sounded so contrived and stiff...BUT I was glad I hung in there because the story was worth it.
