And no one embodies this spirit more than Elena Richardson, whose guiding principle is playing by the rules. Enter Mia Warren - an enigmatic artist and single mother - who arrives in this idyllic bubble with her teenage daughter, Pearl, and rents a house from the Richardsons.

The story felt a big drawn out and I didn't like the ending much. The writing was too floury and when I think about it not much happened over all. Sorry. I just didn't enjoy this one.

Raney Moore has it all figured out. An ambitious young partner at a prestigious Manhattan law firm, she's got a dream job, a loving (and famous) husband, and amazing twin daughters. Her world is full, busy, perfectly scripted. Or so she thinks. One sunny fall day, a bombshell phone call throws Raney's well-ordered existence into chaos, and in a fit of rage, she diabolically, hilariously burns everything down. Once the flames subside, she finds herself asking some difficult questions: Who am I? What just happened? Am I ever going to find my way back to normal?

I know that some of the reviews that they were annoyed because they song just communicate. I'm one of those individuals who recognized it is easier said than done. this book parallels my own marriage in so many ways. I loved the author's writing and perspective. It was a phenomenal book and a phenomenal story. I would even love to see it visually in film. While it's not everyone's marriage story it is a very real marriage story. I think people don't understand how many marriages out there don't have a big problem but have a marriage filled with little problems that suddenly feels insurmountable.
