Here is the story of Jerry Weintraub: the self-made, Brooklyn-born, Bronx-raised impresario, Hollywood producer, legendary deal maker, and friend of politicians and stars. No matter where nature has placed him - the club rooms of Brooklyn, the Mafia dives of New York's Lower East Side, the wilds of Alaska, or the hills of Hollywood - he has found a way to put on a show and sell tickets at the door.

Great book about two great men. Only thing that detracted from the story was the political rhetoric. I understand that Kareem's politics are very important to him and should be a part of the story, but there were times he could have mentioned his political thoughts and then moved on, but instead he would drag on about them.

Other than the heavy political sections, the book was fantastic. Wonderful story, wonderfully written, and wonderfully read.

His world is alive with obscure desires and hidden motives, a world where forgiveness is automatic and an argument can be the highest form of love. Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim is another unforgettable collection from one of the wittiest and most original writers at work today.

What else can I say? This is my 5th Sedaris audiobook and I loved this as much as I loved the others. His dry humor just kills me and I'm pretty sure I have a hernia from catching all of his subtle jokes. He's so good at making you work for it, yet never having to strain for it. And then every once in awhile he finds a way to tuck in the all too real melancholy parts of life. Simply put, David's a master at everyday observation and I'm just so grateful I live in a world where I can so easily listen to all of the ones he wishes to share.

James Joyce revolutionized twentieth-century writing with his "stream of consciousness" technique. While ingeniously innovative and experimental, he was also a keenly precise chronicler of the people, places, and sounds of his native Dublin. In Dubliners, a cast of 15 internationally famous stage and screen actors perform stories that make up a brilliant journey over a human landscape that captures the bleakest of despair to the most blinding of epiphanies.

This was one of the few books I bought a hard copy to follow along with; the appendix made the stories that much deeper and fuller. I am glad that Joyce has such an accessible book like Dubliners, as I know his later works are a project to read/listen to in and of themselves.

This book is a wonderful glimpse into the lives of people. As the clock will never stop, it's clear that almost 150 years later, people will be people. Joyce seems to have a way of sucking you into a story and suddenly stopping, eerily like that song you love that you wish had more verses. So instead you have to hit pause after the story and let what you just heard/read really sink in. Fantastic after taste.. if that makes sense.

The narrations are great as well. It's a nice change of pace from one story to the next; makes you feel closer to the story with the Irish accents.

David's audiobooks are an escape for me. He's a magician when it comes to dry humor. His writing is as punchy as his jokes and his voice is somehow perfectly relatable and easy on the ears yet it's obvious he's put a lot of time in crafting his reading style. Thanks again David. I look forward to the next one I decide to listen to.

Every aspect of this book is really good and of course the subject, Steve had an incredibly interesting, unique, and influential life that's personally affected so many of our own lives. So yes, I was very interested in the inner workings of the mad genius behind all the devices I've gleefully spent thousands of dollars on.

Walter Isaacson does a wonderful job in taking us along for the journey that is Steve Job's life. Dylan Baker deliver's the story in an easy to listen to and clear voice.

I recommend this book to anyone that's on the edge of listening. It is a little longer at 24 hours so you may want to listen at 1.25x through some parts.

I would have given it 4.5/5 stars if was able to for both the story and the reading; 5 stars being reserved for books that blow my mind and performances that blow me away. This was neither, but still well worth it.

Models is the first book ever written on seduction as an emotional process rather than a logical one, a process of connecting with women rather than impressing them. It's the most mature and honest guide on how a man can attract women without faking behavior, without lying and without emulating others. A game-changer.

Great info and decently written. 3.75/5 writing style while the material is a 5/4. It's mostly about improving yourself to become a better you and as a result you will genuinely become a more confident, happy, and attractive person.

The only major fault is the narration. Mark? Seriously? This is so unprofessionally done it's a 7/10 on the cringe scale. I left 3 off because
1) You don't have a bad voice
2) It takes balls to narrate your own book/you were probably cash strapped back then considering the production value
3) You already know what I'm about to say and that's why you got Roger Wayne and a professional producer/crew to deliver one of the greatest narration performances of all time for the subtle art of not giving a f*ck

The problem with this audiobook narration is there are so many times you stumble in your reading and just left it in. Also the production quality is about the lowest I've heard on Audible. Like, yikes. The part you're explaining how to dress you obviously lose your place reading and start to skim/ramble out loud through what you just read until you find where you left off and then go back to actually reading.

That said, thanks the great advice.
