Harry Potter has never even heard of Hogwarts when the letters start dropping on the doormat at number four, Privet Drive. Addressed in green ink on yellowish parchment with a purple seal, they are swiftly confiscated by his grisly aunt and uncle. Then, on Harry's eleventh birthday, a great beetle-eyed giant of a man called Rubeus Hagrid bursts in with some astonishing news: Harry Potter is a wizard, and he has a place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. An incredible adventure is about to begin!

I love Harry Potter...I've read the books, seen the movies at the theater and on tv too many times to count and will still watch a Harry Potter Weekend but I just could not get into the audio. I think it was the lack of music and sound effects, the narrator did a good job but theater and tv are just too good to beat!

Eccentric, reclusive Walter Rennert lies cold at the bottom of his stairs. At first glance the scene looks straightforward: a once-respected psychology professor done in by booze and a bad heart. But his daughter, Tatiana, insists that her father has been murdered, and she persuades Clay Edison to take a closer look at the grim facts of Rennert's life. What emerges is a history of scandal and violence and an experiment gone horribly wrong that ended in the brutal murder of a coed.

It's been appx. a month or so since I finished this listen and I had to read the synopsis to remember what it was about. This was a first listen of this author and will be the last. There was really just no story there to grab onto and my attention was easily grabbed by minimal things going on around me.

I can feel the love and passion and commitment her couples have for each other just listening to their stories. There are many questions left unanswered after Book 1 so on I go!

At the other end of the long, torturous train ride, Alfred is separated from his family and sent to the men's camp, where all of his belongings are tossed on a roaring fire. His books, his papers, his life's work. The Nazis have no idea what they have just destroyed. I look for things out of my comfort zone and selected this based on the description and reviews. It took me a long time to finish because of the darkness of the content...It was an excellent listen though, about survival of and life after the Nazi death camps, and what a few determined men and women can accomplish under the most dire circumstances. Great story, great narration and I highly recommend but do expect some tears.

A great series I highly recommend! Memorable characters and their activities as Orphan X plays the good guy and tries to escape his enemies from the past! This is an automatic download for me and they don't come fast enough so I relisten to the series while waiting! Scott Brick does an awesome narration and has made these characters come to life, it would be very difficult to replace him.
