First-grade teacher Tony Santoro’s time in the military directly influenced his new choice of career - and his choice in women. He’s looking for someone of substance, and Aimee has far more to offer than just her adorably disheveled look. But the very day he finally works up the nerve to ask Aimee out is the day unspeakable violence explodes in the school. Trapped in the gym, Aimee and Tony will have to work together to get out with their lives...and the lives of the dozens of students trapped with them.

I get audio books of anything Susan Stoker and eagerly await the next installment in her series. So, I'm shocked at how terrible this story is. Not only is a school shooting an inappropriate setting for the story, the dialogue was not at all up to Stoker's standards.

Jackson "The Beast" Boudreaux is rich, gorgeous, and unbelievably rude to the staff at Chef Bianca Hardwick's New Orleans restaurant. Bianca would sooner douse herself in hot sauce than cook for Jackson again, but when he asks her to cater his fundraiser, Bianca can't refuse, knowing the cash will help pay her mother's medical bills. Then Jackson makes another outrageous request: Marry me. The unconventional offer includes an enormous sum - money Bianca desperately needs, even if it does come with a contract - and a stunning ring.

Single dad Andrew Beckwith has already devoted his life to one girl - and as far as he's concerned, she's all he needs. The inked, rough-around-the-edges bad boy left his reckless ways behind six years ago when his daughter Bell was born. When Bell's mother walked out of their lives, Andrew vowed never to let another woman close enough to hurt them again. But when sharp-tongued Amelia and stubborn Andrew cross paths, sparks fly - and burn. After all, it's not as if opposites ever attract.

The characters are whiny, ridiculous dialogue and events that don't seem to fit.

The other nannies in this city don't call him the Sexy One for nothing. My boss, the amazingly wonderful single father to the girl I take care of every day is ridiculously hot, like movie star levels with those arms, and those eyes, and that body. Not to mention the way he dotes on his little girl melts me all over. But what really makes my knees weak are the times when his gaze lingers on me. In secret. When no one else is around. I can't risk my job for a chance at something more, can I? But I don't know how to resist him much longer either.
