Performance was great. Story sucks. Rape and Stockholm syndrome do not a romance make! It would have bee a better if another race rescued the humans.

The performance is good. But the "story" is can be summed up with one sentence. The woman with no social ties gets lost, is found, and has mind blowing sex. The end.

These guys are a bit too violent to be lovable. And then there's no real challenge. The book ends too soon as well.

I like the premise. A biblical archeologist is on the hunt for the crown of thorns worn by Jesus. A crusader entrusted with the crown hides it before he is killed by a betrayer and an alchemist who is able to suspend life and heal our hero. 800 years later these two find each other to complete the ancient holy task. But our hero and heroine die and a puff of smoke from freak lightning? Come on, we need more than this. It seems the writer got lazy at the end. Very disappointing. And all throughout the book, I kept wishing the author would answer my question, "What happened to the alchemist and the innkeeper?"

If you're looking for you're typical sex filled shifter romance you've found it. Unfortunately it doesn't offer more than that. I found myself wanting the author to develop the story more, especially at the end. It seems to end abruptly. Also the narration sounds a little robotic and odd at times. Overall I think it could be a good story if the author went back to do a rewrite.

At first I didn't think I'd like the story since it sounded like the run of the mill Stockholm syndrome type romance. But I was surprised that it offered a bit of a mystery along with the story and not only focused on the main characters problems but other problems in the world and how they all interconnect. Overall I do recommend this book.
