Return once more to a galaxy far, far away with this sublime retelling of George Lucas's epic Star Wars in the style of the immortal Bard of Avon. The saga of a wise (Jedi) knight and an evil (Sith) lord, of a beautiful princess held captive and a young hero coming of age, Star Wars abounds with all the valor and villainy of Shakespeare's greatest plays. 'Tis a tale told by fretful droids, full of faithful Wookiees and fearsome Stormtroopers, signifying...pretty much everything.

Where does William Shakespeare's Star Wars rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

No ranks at all.

What was one of the most memorable moments of William Shakespeare's Star Wars?

Nothing to report!

How could the performance have been better?

I couldn’t go further than the bit when Luke and Ben first meet. Some parts were fine, but what about the rest? I mean I see myself hearing a performance on the prequels, and watching the rare DVDs of the classic trilogy and the newest ones on Blu ray, to be honest.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

IT"S ALREADY A FILM; ONE the creator changed, twice!

Any additional comments?

None

This landmark production, perhaps the most ambitious radio project ever attempted, began when Star Wars creator George Lucas donated the story rights to an NPR affiliate. Writer Brian Daley adapted the film's highly visual script to the special demands and unique possibilities of radio, creating a more richly textured tale with greater emphasis on character development.

I certainly enjoy Star Wars, even though I am not a die hard fan of it.
The radio drama here is a fine alternative from any movie, although some parts should have been narrated rather than announced by a character (or characters)
This, by the way, was made after the 3 movies were made, so things can sound inconsistent with the prequels.

The radio dramatisation of The Hobbit became a classic when it was first broadcast on BBC Radio 4 in 1968 and it continues to delight today. Tolkien's famous saga, the prelude to the Lord of the Rings, has all the ingredients of fantasy and adventure: dwarves, elves, goblins and trolls, a fearsome dragon, a great wizard, a perilous quest, and a dramatic climax.

I guess it's less likely to put me to sleep than others, and hearing 2 voices taking turns to narrate can be funny enough, but the way the names of Gandalf, Thorin, and Gollum left a lot to be desired.
I recommend this on the whole, though.

I must admit there were some voices less over-the-top than the ones cast for the Chronicles dramatized by Paul McCusker, but like the Focus On the Family versions, they had parts that should be narrated rather than announced by a character.
Such details aside, I am sure I'll be repetitive with this fine set.
