Story
Jane Hayes is a seemingly normal young New Yorker, but she has a secret. Her obsession with Mr. Darcy, as played by Colin Firth in the BBC adaptation of Pride and Prejudice, is ruining her love life: no real man can compare. But when a wealthy relative bequeaths her a trip to an English resort catering to Austen-crazed women, Jane's fantasies of meeting the perfect Regency-era gentleman suddenly become realer than she ever could have imagined.

Fun and imaginative!

If you read Austen just to take a mental vacation to a place of romance and leisure, then you will love this book. The concept of having a modern day woman being able to literally (well as close as one can get) live inside an Austen novel is intriguing! Her struggles are ones that I could see having! This is a great light read!

Funny story of an amazingly strong woman and her fantastical life! Gibson has the ability to create characters which are both believable and interesting! Really enjoyed listening to this one, the narrator is great! The sex scenes are the most graphic I've ever heard, but that made the book even better! :)

This story is romantic and touching while staying fun and intriguing. It is sweet and has some interesting twists. As another reviewer pointed out the narrator does breathe. It could be annoying, except for the fact that the story is so great that you might not even notice! Read all stories from Rachel Gibson, she is the best!

Story
Jane Austen's first published novel, Sense and Sensibility, is a wonderfully entertaining tale of flirtation and folly that revolves around two starkly different sisters, Elinor and Marianne Dashwood. While Elinor is thoughtful, considerate, and calm, her younger sister is emotional and wildly romantic.

Having already been primed with Pride and Prejudice book and movie made this an easier read. It would have been a struggle if I hadn't already known some of the rules! The story is good and confusing in the vistorian way only Austen can do!

Story
To whom the fat rolls...I'm tired of books where a self-loathing heroine is teased to the point where she starves herself skinny in hopes of a fabulous new life. And I hate the message that women can't possibly be happy until we all fit into our skinny jeans. I don't find these stories uplifting; they make me want to hug these women and take them out for fizzy champagne drinks and cheesecake and explain to them that until they figure out their insides, their outsides don't matter.

Hilarious Commentary on Weight Loss!

This book is so funny! Jen Lancaster has an attitude and a great sense of humor! Following her struggle to lose weight and get fit is inspiring and honest. She doesn't lie or sugar coat her journey, but tells it like it is. By the end of the book I felt like I had a new friend! One word of caution: She does cuss a lot. It didn't offend me, but does make me curse more while listening. :) Kinda funny, but maybe not to you!
