Seriously, they just keep getting better! I thought they couldn’t possibly be as well written as Daddy Wanted (no spoilers), but combine Hawke’s and Scott’s great collaboration with Russo’s character voices, and I think I need to go listen to it all over again. This one may be my favorite!

Eventually being diagnosed with reactive attachment disorder as a child, "difficult" didn’t even begin to describe the nightmare of Charlie’s life. Escaping the drug-induced limbo he existed in and running from his alcoholic mother and despotic grandfather, he finally finds some peace and a home on Rainbow Key. Noah is also running, even if he doesn’t realize it, and the guilt he feels over his brother’s suicide chases him no matter where he goes.

Sue has a remarkable talent for making adorable stories out of some very serious and heartbreaking topics. Charlie's unique issues with tactile sensation and Noah's recent heartbreak make them absolutely the "wrong couple," until you realize they're absolutely perfect for each other.

I absolutely loved this. It's even better than Joshua's story, and I can't wait to start on Ben's (that guy seriously needs some love!).

I will say, I'm very picky with narrators, and this one took a little getting used to, but by the end of the book, I was sold!

Josh(ua) and Daniel have fantastic chemistry, the not-so-surprise villain was also joined by a villain I didn't see coming, and the ending made me very happy. Can't wait to start the next one!

Single father Pierre Duchamp has recently returned to Hollydale with plans to open Salty Stix, an authentic French bakery like the one he apprenticed at in Paris. The omega doesn’t have, need, or even want an alpha in his life - especially a provincial small town rube that doesn’t understand the concept of a little healthy competition.

He and Pierre are so adorable, and it's good to finally see him get a happy ending.

As always Hawke's writing style is fantastic, but once again, I just didn't connect with Bacca in this book as much as I did in Peppermint Spiced Omega. He's not bad, it's just something about his inflections in Kent's voice, although I found his Pierre very good.

One: Michael Pauley can do no wrong. He is amazing at voices, accents, and adding just the right inflections to differentiate between different characters and in different scenarios. I feel obligated to love just about any book he narrates, honestly. He's just that good.

Two: I knew about two minutes into this book that I would love it, and I was definitely proven right. The story immediately starts off with a flashback that not only pulls you in but makes you extremely emotionally invested in the plot before you even get back into Tenny and Ronan's current storyline.

I'm very difficult to please when it comes to well-written fictional characters, and these two continue to be two of my favorites. Characters need to be identifiable, empathetic, but flawed enough to be realistic. Tennyson and Ronan continue to be amazing, and Michael Pauley narrates their chemistry flawlessly!

I haven't read/listened to a lot of Pandora Pine (very little actually), but if the other books are anything like this one, I'm going to end up collecting them all.

Love!

JACK - My life ended when I was 16. Not literally - I’m no ghost, I just feel like one. It's a byproduct of losing your pack to a plague that skips you by like you’re not worth the effort. Chose all the good ones and you’re what was left behind. Survivor’s guilt, people call it. I just call it like I see it. I do a decent job of going through the motions. I’ve got a good reputation as an alpha, and everyone loves to joke about the only vegan alpha in North America. Some days even I’m convinced that this is it. As good as it gets. Then Dylan Kapernit walks into my shop.

I'll admit, when I started this, I was pretty convinced I wouldn't like it. The first chapter or so feels a little slow, but once Jack meets Dylan, all bets are off. Pretty much immediately after that is where the story really picks up in both writing style and rhythm.

The chemistry of these two is some of the best I've seen in a while, and the narrator is able to balance their personalities wonderfully.

This is the first book I've read/listened to from either of these authors, and I have a feeling it won't be my last!

I don't mean to be unkind, but the narrator made this a very difficult story to listen to. I went back and looked at the actual book itself, and it was much easier to read and focus on when Lewis' voice wasn't attached. I know some people like his style, but it is definitely not for me. Narrators are very much an acquired taste, and I didn't develop one for his voice.

The story itself is very enjoyable. I like the characters, the mystery, and the relationship. It was just the narrator that drove me up the wall when listening. It was a struggle to get through the audiobook.

Overall, it's okay. I probably won't be listening to it again, but it was enjoyable enough. The story is fairly predictable, and while the main characters are supposed to be twists on the classic Alpha/Omega trope, they come off more cliched than anything.

The main things I liked were how well the descriptive scenes were written, and Teddy's grandmother. She's a hoot.

I will say that while I really didn't like the beginning, the ending redeemed it very well, but it did take me over half the book to really get into it.
