Recent EMP attacks have left the country in a state of chaos and upheaval. With two of his children on the East Coast, Ben Davis has left Colorado behind, embarking on a cross-country journey with his eldest son, Joel, one of Joel’s classmates, Allie, and the family dog, Gunner. Very few modern vehicles remain functional, but thanks to Joel’s 1972 Chevy Blazer, Ben and his crew are mobile and able to carry supplies. But that doesn’t mean they’re safe in this post-apocalyptic world. They soon discover that life as they know it is over. Danger fills every moment of their new reality.

Without spoiling the story, as a military vet, I truly sympathized for the main character . I knew a few good ones during my career. I hope mankind will spawn a lot of sad Sams. A really great story. The narator needs to get a background in military hardware, one item rather bothered me as it took a few minutes to figure out that a bar that a character was going to use was a B.A.R., Browning automatic rifle.

I should have known after the fourth chapter, anything a character did took an entire chapter ,as in too get some honey from a hive......on and on. I could not believe how many bad guys came out of nowhere and datadatada the hero saves the day at the last possible second. Truly a waste of money. I will definitely put this author on my do not buy list.

As a prepper, Grayson Rowan was prepared for almost anything...anything other than being totally alone when the sh*t hits the fan. While he sat back and watched the US rattle swords with Korea, play chicken with Russia, and strong-arm China, he felt sure if the lights went out that he and his family would be ready and safe. What he wasn't prepared for was his family not being home if it ever happened. Olivia Rowan is with her sisters, Gabby and Emma, on a girls-only trip to Myrtle Beach. I made the mistake of buying all three audio books, I was soooo glad this drivel finally ended The author spent more cute time writing about the shallow characters than the whole bloody mess the author calls a book. My fault I enjoyed a different book and was thoroughly disappointed in this series. The narrator was speed reading throughout the whole series, which I suppose was a good thing . Mr and Mrs Hero was sickenly sweet to each other and then were cursing like a drunken sailor at each other as soon as the next sentence. (Baby, will you go do something for me you &$%3% or I will cut your &$%3 off. Baby this ,baby that like preteen yuck !) Most of the book was a teenage love story .If you were not Mr hero.the narrator gave the other characters a "duh" voice and the.young children was constantly telling Mr Hero he was "so awesome". Mr Hero knew everything, saw everything and if you didn't like it Mr Hero would beat the &$+%&#%$ out of you.I have never returned a book but I am going to try with pile of crap.
