A modern masterpiece from one of Italy's most acclaimed authors, My Brilliant Friend is a rich, intense, and generous-hearted story about two friends, Elena and Lila, who represent the story of a nation and the nature of friendship.

Disappointed in the last 10 minute wrap up of a 12 hour book.

I thought the story was very good. The book was wrapped up in the last 10 minutes of the story. The author didn’t go back to the beginning and pull it all together. Unless the attention was to say Nina son was a criminal like his father?

She’s not even sure why Jessica Parker invited her to her posh wedding. They haven’t seen each other since they were unhappy 14-year-old girls at fat camp. And now they’re from two completely different worlds.

I enjoyed the story, and wanted to continue listening to it. Friendship and being stuck in ones life and being afraid of to move forward is underlining theme.

Art patrons for generations, the Whitakers supported strangers but drained the life out of each other. Now, after being estranged for years, four generations of Whitaker women find themselves once again at the Muses. Leo, the Whitaker matriarch, lives in the rambling mansion.
