This book is different in the best ways. Written from the point of view of 7 year old Elsa, it is filled with wisdom. Elsa is on an Adventure that will allow her friends and family to grow beyond their wildest dreams. Elsa is also wise beyond her years and refreshingly outspoken.

I couldn't wait to see what happened next. Especially after the middle of the book. The story has a slow buildup but was worth the time to understand the happenings. The topic of "secret children" needed to be explored and this book did a great job.

Exciting moving adventure I couldn't put down.

Loved this book. This is the heart wrenching story of German occupied France and the men and women who survived and resisted. The Nightingale is headstrong and brave as she joins the French resistance. Her sister maintains their family home and through the deprivation of war, she holds on to her family. I was moved to tears many times. An important historical novel.

Could not stop listening to hear what happened next! One of the best books for entertainment, raw emotion, and of triumph over suffering. Heroines of immense intensity are a testament to the enduring resiliency of the human spirit over evil. I would highly recommend this book.

Fun literary mystery that I couldn't put down.

Fun romp through the ups and downs of lives of 4 women stating over in a brave way. They all help others in the small town of Miracle Springs and help each other face the secrets from their past. A malignant group of outsiders tries to cheat the town through a scam and the mystery must be solved. Worth the journey to join the Secret Book & Scone Society.

I loved this book! It had a bit of everything: beautiful setting, slowly unraveling family story with a frightening mystery the reaches a climax near the end. I couldn't put it down. Loved the narration by Ms. Oxer. Her voice followed the action and emotions of the story accurately . She conveyed the characters so believably that I was lost in the story, not distracted by the narration.

Couldn't wait to begin the next chapter. A different kind of British Mystery because the protagonist is an upper class young widow. However, she has little interest in being boxed in by the social rules of her class, and turns to self education and enlightenment. Emily persistantly follows leads to a dangerous thief and murderer, to find justice for the wrongly accused.

It grips you with the first paragraph and won't release you. Characters well written and realistic. The struggle of being human in the world is the underlying theme. The plot full of adventure, love, and loss. Then redemption.

Hard for me to get into it at first but once in, I couldn't wait for each new development. Well built fantasy world and good characters. A bit silly throughout but that keeps it lighthearted and fun. We might all wonder about the nature of Heaven and William's version is entertaining.
