Well to be honest the story is a cautionary tale about societies addiction to ones self! So for me this book was hard to read/listen to it has some very crude language and talks about sex in a very demeaning way. I found it very tasteless and provocative. The story could've been great I really thought it the author could've written a better story with some of his ideas. I felt the author sees the absolute worse in people! And that's what I had in the front of my mind the entire time with this book.

In Mary's world there are simple truths. The Sisterhood always knows best. The Guardians will protect and serve. The Unconsecrated will never relent. And you must always mind the fence that surrounds the village; the fence that protects the village from the Forest of Hands and Teeth. But, slowly, Mary's truths are failing her. She's learning things she never wanted to know about the Sisterhood and its secrets, and the Guardians and their power, and about the Unconsecrated and their relentlessness.

Would you try another book from Carrie Ryan and/or Vane Millon?

No never.

Would you ever listen to anything by Carrie Ryan again?

No never.

Would you be willing to try another one of Vane Millon’s performances?

The narration was boring at points I just sped up the speed to get it over with.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Forest of Hands and Teeth?

The story was all over the place. My thoughts were that it had been written for a high school English class and I would have maybe given it a D for imagination. The heroine was so unlikable and dull she brought nothing to the story. The love interests were so one dimensional that I ended up not caring who she chose. The returned as they called zombies were not scary and again the story did not elaborate enough to even wonder how they had become that way. The whole story was absolute torture that I just wanted to finish and NOT in that could not put it down way.

Any additional comments?

Do yourself a favor and save your credit or dollars for a more enjoyable book.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes if you love dystopian books like me its a decent story.

If you’ve listened to books by Aimee Carter before, how does this one compare?

No I haven't.

What does Lameece Issaq bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She is a good narrator. I enjoyed her voice for each character.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No this is not one of those type books.

Would you listen to Infected again? Why?

I like the story but not the characters. If that makes sense? I just wanted to root for someone. The main characters were not like-able at all. But other than that the story went fine.

Would you be willing to try another book from Scott Sigler? Why or why not?

I might? I did like the plot. And I wanted to know more about the Triangle's.

Which scene was your favorite?

There was not one scene that I enjoyed over the others. I really wanted to like the character Perry in the beginning I liked how he struggled with who he wanted to be and who the Triangle's were making him become.

If you could rename Infected, what would you call it?

I think the title is fitting.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I would if they were into strong military genre's. But not a book that you just wanted to drift away.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

I liked the unity of the them that felt authentic to me. But the rest was a bit much over wrought.

Did Mike Dawson do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

I personally did not like it his Mr. Tuff Guy voice, it grated on me.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Not at the movies but maybe on T.V.?

Would you consider the audio edition of Dawn to be better than the print version?

I couldn't say I only had the audible version.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Lilith is my favorite she is strong but vulnerable. Her story is compelling and you root for her to succeed.

Which scene was your favorite?

I don't want to give to much away but my favorite was when she was reanimated and was struggling with doubt. I had a hard time walking away from the audible because I was so invested with her journey.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

I think the title is fitting.

Any additional comments?

The audible held my attention from start to finish and this is not my favorite genre. But this book has won my over and I need to finish Lilith journey. Would highly recommend the writing is engrossing and real.
