This award winning book takes one back to a time of the American Revolution and the price of war. I read it with my 6th grade class. They were engaged and enjoyed it. It brought that time back to life for them, and they connected with the characters.

This narrative was raw at times when speaking about the war. I loved the first chapter. It was haunting in a sense. It was well woven. It kept you in the present moment as you read. It was a glimpse into another era in the USA.
