Could be called 'On Robert Caro'

Huge fan of Robert Caro's work - I was hoping this would be a quick take on the biggest lessons on power that he teased out in his masterpieces that I could share with people who would find the other books too long. It was mostly about Robert Caro's life and work processes, without much on his key observations on power. OK for fans like me, but probably not wide interest and definitely overpriced for a brief autobio.

Old recording - cheesy music but the book is good

Nice historical book - powerful and definitely well suited to audio format. I think I got more out of it on audio than I would have reading it on paper. Tour of middle class America in the Vietnam era - easy to forget how volatile a time that was with social unrest and domestic terrorism rather than just peace and grass. Phillip Roth books strike me as excellent technical muscle power rather than ...transcendental literature... so expect a nice story well told, not a life changing experience. The recording is old and can be kind of cheesy - music and dramatism - but is still worth listening to.

It was a nice and unexpected story - cool adventure/star crossed love story with new world twist - a little tour around British Malaya and Australia around the war time and afterward, with a bit of a 50s British voice that highlights the cool human side of what capitalism can be. And makes you feel the Australian outback. Sweet and optimistic but not boring. Enjoyable easy listen.

Great short listen - tension builds at the end!

Nice short read - nice introduction to James Joyce without taking on one of the longer books. Tension really builds and I could not stop listening at the end. The reader's Irish accent adds something but I found it a bit hard to understand sometimes.

Nice easy read - a pleasure to hear it while going about daily chores, commuting etc. Nice story - I'm not usually a big sci-fi fan, but it was grounded in real human experience well enough to suspend disbelief. Recommended!

Classic story, entertaining and read well. Perfect for listening rather than reading. Engaging and does not require 100% focus, so this was a good book for listening to while doing laundry, cooking etc. Recommended.
