Trust. Betrayal. Revenge. The Count of Monte Cristo is the quintessential masterpiece of Alexandre Dumas. In Edmond Dantes we find an early materialization of the modern superhero. He is a dashing young sailor imprisoned unjustly for treason. While in prison he meets a holy man who imparts to him all his wisdom. The "abbe" also divulges the profound secret of a hidden treasure. Dantes realizes that with such immense wealth, one could wreak a hateful vengeance on one's enemies.

I have read this novel a couple years prior, but after listening to this audiobook, I've concluded that no other narrator could have done a better job. I honestly don't understand why this book wasn't recreated into a TV show. The narrator sure sounds like he could be the actor of every man in the show. I've now purchased several other books narrated by him because I know for certain that I won't be disappointed.

The celebrated 2010 HBO miniseries The Pacific, winner of eight Emmy Awards, was based on two classic books about the War in the Pacific, Helmet for My Pillow and With The Old Breed. Audible Studios, in partnership with Playtone, the production company co-owned by Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman, and creator of the award-winning HBO series Band of Brothers, John Adams, and The Pacific, as well as the HBO movie Game Change, has created new recordings of these memoirs, narrated by the stars of the miniseries.

One of the fathers of science fiction, Mr. Herbert couldn't have done a better job to lay a solid foundation. The narration was quite interesting. They all spoke clearly and with proficiency. It seemed like the main narrator would speak for all the characters in every other chapter, and the other narrators would play as the characters in between. But I enjoyed every bit of it! I recommend this book not only to Sci-Fi fans but to every reader.

Whether you're a Christian or not, you will find this book mystifying but in an honest and beautiful way. Brian Godawa and his team are great at what they do. I hope he never stops making books and never strays from biblical and theological truth.

They are called Anakim, Rephaim and others. Only two men, Joshua and Caleb, have the faith to face these Nephilim giants whose murderous idolatry defiles the land. But first, they must establish a bridgehead across the river Jordan to launch their invasion.
