The book paces nicely. The characters, although a tad cliche, are endearing. You will warm up to them quickly and be thoroughly invested in their adventures. The ones you love and the ones you hate play off of each other beautifully in this novel.

Noah provides something deeper than traditional memoirists: powerfully funny observations about how farcical political and social systems play out in our lives.

Great book, well told interesting story. You'll learn a lot about self and life from this book if you need to work on those parts of you she mentioned. It's only that Shanda's voice became increasingly more any. It's do distinctive. I could also hear the characters from some of her shows in the monologues.

Lyra's story begins in the Haven Institute, a building tucked away on a private island off the coast of Florida that from a distance looks serene and even beautiful. But up close, the locked doors, military guards, and biohazard suits tell a different story. In truth Haven is a clandestine research facility where thousands of replicas, or human models, are born, raised, and observed. When a surprise attack is launched on Haven, two of its young experimental subjects - Lyra, or 24, and the boy known only as 72 - manage to escape.

Melanie is a very special girl. Dr Caldwell calls her "our little genius". Every morning, Melanie waits in her cell to be collected for class. When they come for her, Sergeant keeps his gun pointing at her while two of his people strap her into the wheelchair. She thinks they don't like her. She jokes that she won't bite, but they don't laugh. Melanie loves school. She loves learning about spelling and sums and the world outside the classroom and the children's cells. She tells her favorite teacher all the things she'll do when she grows up. Melanie doesn't know why this makes Miss Justineau look sad.

Though I didn't love the ending, the book itself was a nice spin on the apocalyptic zombie theme. The narrator did a nice job with the characters -although I'm admittedly no expert on English accents. I found the characters to be endearing even when borderline clichés-ish. The plot was captivating throughout.

The finger biting, hair raising, edge of your seat action you've come to expect from Sakey in this series. However he certainly kicked it up a notch in this last book. The characters were palpable and matured in a way that was in line with the action from the previous books. The love story angle definitely played out to be a man's dream but I'll give him a pass on that one. The narrator did an excellent job with most of the voices.
He tied it all together nicely.

The story was a bit overdone but didn't really progress much. The concept seems like a neat one as stories go. It's like your classic dystopia meets X-Men. The voice of the main character was overly emotional and high strung and the author really used an entire book to develop one character. The way she constantly described being touched by Adam in the overly done vocals seemed more appropriate for a romance novel. Again, I get the point but it was a bit over done. Kenji and James however are quite endearing. Not the worst book ever but I think it would've been a better read than listen.

Most of us live with the stubborn idea that we'll always have tomorrow to do our most important and valuable work. We fill our days with frantic activity, bouncing from task to task, scrambling to make deadlines and chase the next promotion. But by the end of each day we're often left asking ourselves "did the work I do today really matter?" We feel the ticking of the clock, but we're stuck in first gear, unsure of the path forward and without a road map to guide us.
