In David and Goliath, Malcolm Gladwell challenges how we think about obstacles and disadvantages, offering a new interpretation of what it means to be discriminated against, or cope with a disability, or lose a parent, or attend a mediocre school, or suffer from any number of other apparent setbacks. Gladwell begins with the real story of what happened between the giant and the shepherd boy those many years ago.

Malcolm Gladwell is a reader's "writer" - simply, crisp language delivered at a 'listenable' pace, this is a book you can listen to over and over again. It makes you think as much as it makes you feel good about the possibility of achieving, overcoming challenges, and how to avoid the pitfalls of "knowing" how the world works.

What was one of the most memorable moments of David and Goliath?

Gladwell's explanation, analysis and food for future thought on how we define - and use - advantages and disadvantages in our life seeds the potential that we can do that which we think we cannot.

Jim Koch has an easy speaking style, which enhances the great content. At the end of every chapter, I was eager to hear the next and just kept on listening (even sitting in a parking lot to finish a chapter, once I had reached my destination in my car).

If you could sum up Content Rules in three words, what would they be?

Read. Re-Read. Read.

What did you like best about this story?

The level of detail and practical application is phenomenal. The 'content' that Ann and CJ crafted in this book is better than ANY in-person or online course I've ever taken. After reading this book once, my content drafting skills improved 100% and my writing business has benefitted tremendously.

Any additional comments?

This book is a MUST READ book for serious writers, marketing professionals, and - business people who's strength is not content or marketing. This book will help any individual think better and write better, ultimately making them communicate better.

This book is well presented, and gives solid, no-nonsense practical lessons for leaders to truly LEAD. In addition, the stories of the heroism of our military remind us that we should be at all times respectful and mindful of their training, sacrifice and diligence in providing the freedoms and lifestyle that we enjoy every day as Americans.

What did you learn from Extreme Ownership that you would use in your daily life?

If you really want to lead, you have to remove the excuses and the BS that we often 'give' ourselves when things don't go the way we want, or if we fail, or if people don't simply 'read our minds' when it comes to expectations. Real leadership is purposeful action and getting the job done.

Any additional comments?

This book was so good I bought the hard copy (on Amazon of course) so that I could re-read and underline important points - and use it as a reference book in my work and life. I tip my hat again to the authors and the soldiers they served with.
