I loved the plot, the pace, the character development and the narration was as good as any I’ve ever heard. She made the story so enjoyable to listen to!
I really enjoy how light touches of humor are woven in without it becoming a comedy. Except that the genre is “paranormal”, the dialogue and actions/reactions are perfectly normal. Meaning, you could picture yourself or a friend saying things the same way the characters in the book do. I’m very much enjoying this series and wish there were twice as many books ahead to read!

I would recommend this book to people who enjoy love stories. I especially enjoyed it because I had seen an interview on British TV, and knew it was based on a true story. The author changed parts of the story to make it more enjoyable and exciting, but when they met, he was homeless and living under a bush!! I I liked that the story m.

This narrator is talented but it’s a miscast. Those of us who live in America can hear a Canadian accent right away. And those of us living in the South feel like fingernails are scratching a chalkboard when we hear a Canadian reading a book set in Atlanta, Georgia! Imagine having a person from Georgia reading something set in Canada! I’ll never understand this. I’m forging on because I like the stories, but every time she says, “garage” I feel like I’ve been zapped! Lol

Set in Georgia and read by a Canadian. Just an awful pairing! And the way she pronounces, “garage” made my skin crawl. The word somehow gets used a LOT, which made it very unpleasant.
Love the stories, but there needs to be a REAL southerner as the narrator for this to ring true.

I like the pace and narrative quality, BUT I’ve never, EVER heard the word, “garage” pronounced the way she did. (And I’ve never heard books with the word “garage” in them soooo many times!) There are so many words pronounced with a Canadian accent. Being from Alabama, I expected a genteel southern reading. Instead, the story could have been set in Canada, instead of Atlanta, Georgia!! It was just ridiculous when there are so many fantastic southern narrators.

I was looking forward to Dead Man Talking because I like the author’s other books. With all the supernatural options in this world, almost anything could happen. But it didn’t. It was like being given small bites of action very four chapters. In fact, it was well over halfway through the book before anything close to

I loved the way this book seemed to form a circle of sorts- bringing a family closer through situations that might have torn others farther apart. There is a lot of grieving in part of the book, but appropriately so. It's not a frivolous quick read... it's a bit more of a drama. I highly recommend the book for having a great story line, "real characters" and a range of human emotion... with a happy ending for most!

The characters were interesting, yet believable. The story had multiple subplots woven in, which gave the book depth, and developed the characters. Who doesn't love a happy ending? Even when happiness is defined differently for each person in the book. I'm about to buy another audio book by this author and narrated by the same two women. The author has won me over!

I chose this rating because the main characters were REAL - reactions weren't over the top just for a laugh. The humor came in more subtle long-running actions by side characters, and one we never even meet!
I loved exploring two very different cultures in England.
I liked going to the very end without knowing how the book would end. It would have been quite realistic to end in any number of ways. I've read all of Kinsella's books and this one won my heart. It is now my favorite, and I look forward to what she will come out with next. It's impressive when an established author can still up her game!

This is the story of four women... their ups and downs in life and love. I love a happy ending which I finally reached as I finished the book. But I'd also read more drama than I expected... more pain and upset. It had its moments of humor, but they were fairly scarce. It is most likely that I was looking for a light hearted, entertaining book that I gave it four stars for the story. It is a well written book with well developed characters. I'll try another book by this author and see if I find one a bit more light hearted.
