It was easy to call us forbidden and harder to call us soul mates. Yet I believed we were both. Forbidden soul mates. When I arrived in Edgewood, Wisconsin, I didn't plan to find him. I didn't plan to stumble into Joe's bar and have Daniel's music stir up my emotions. I had no clue that his voice would make my hurts forget their own sorrow. I had no idea that my happiness would remember its own bliss.

5 Stars...actually double that 5 Stars!

There was no doubt in my mind - my only job in this lifetime was to love her.

Delicious...and hot, I devoured this in one sitting!
Outstanding...amazing writing. I couldn't help but reread lines over and over!
Unbelievably addicting...so damn good!
Beautiful...soulmate beautiful!
Loving...and aching and warm!
Excellent...simply excellent!

"I don't know. Maybe because when hearts are set on fire, no complications can extinguish the flame."

I may be saying this prematurely but this quite possibly could be my favorite release this year. It's a Must Read, Must Read!

Items needed to read this story: 1) a comfy seat to settle into, 2) a cozy blanket to snuggle with, and 3) a few tissues as they might come in handy. Enjoy, enjoy!

I originally read this when it was first released so when I saw it was available on audio I quickly snagged it to experience it all over again.

First I said Bully was my favorite Penelope Douglas book, then I said Misconduct was, but now I say Corrupt is. Big time.

This was dark, twisted, and I was addicted!

I loved this book so much that when I was 70% into reading it I actually started the audio from the beginning so I could experience it two times over. That's how much I loved this book.

Vanessa Mazur knows she's doing the right thing. She shouldn't feel bad for quitting. Being an assistant/housekeeper/fairy godmother to the top defensive end in the National Football Organization was always supposed to be temporary. She has plans, and none of them include washing extra-large underwear longer than necessary. But when Aiden Graves shows up at her door wanting her to come back, she's beyond shocked.

5 BIG GUY Stars!

“Aiden..uh…” I scratched at my forehead, trying to keep my features even. First things first. “Did you just call me Muffin?”
He looked at me. His blink was so delayed, I started thinking maybe I’d imagined it. “I figured it was too soon to call you Dinner Roll.”

(I loved the dry sense of humor in this book!)

This review is nothing but me gushing about this story! Just random “how much I loved it”. I hated having to put it down, I didn't want to put it down, and if I wasn't reading it, I was thinking about it...constantly...waiting patiently to pick it back up. The worst...having 18% left and having to go work - talk about a looonnnng day.

“I always learn from my mistakes. We made a good team once. We’ll make a good team again.”

I seriously loved the crap out of The Wall of Winnipeg and Me.

“You’re the only person I want to do this with me.”

Waiting for that first touch, first show of emotion to then grab onto it and then greedily crave the next moment or caress. I think I'm starting to love and appreciate slow builds. At least the way Mariana Zapata writes them.

Good lord. My heart pounded as I sat at the chair behind my desk, and I set my palm over it. What the hell was that? That smile was like a nuclear bomb he had within his reach. I mean, I knew Aiden was attractive, obviously, but when he smiled, there was nothing to prepare you for that weapon of mass destruction.
……..
Good grief, he needed to keep that thing in check.

I didn’t care that my list of new releases, I wanted to read, was growing, I just wanted to live inside this one for as long as possible. I will definitely be keeping an eye out for the audio since it’s my favorite form of re-reading because this book, I have a feeling, I’ll have stuck on repeat!

Definitely top favorite 2016 release!

When Brent Mason looks at Kennedy Randolph, he doesn't see the awkward, sweet girl who grew up next door. He sees a self-assured, stunning woman...who wants to crush the most intimate - and prized - parts of his anatomy beneath the heels of her Louboutins. When Kennedy looks at Brent, all she sees is the selfish, Abercrombie & Fitch catalogue-worthy teenager who humiliated her in high school in order to join the popular crowd. A crowd that made those years a living hell for her.

Absolutely adorable…freakin loved this book! Had a permanent smirk the whole time. I'm still smiling. I know it was Emma Chase’s amazing words but it was also Deacon Lee’s (another new favorite reader) entertaining narration that made Brent’s story a BIG winner for me. Emma Chase does no wrong when writing in a male's POV. I will definitely be listening to this book again and am already looking forward to it.

I read this book when it first came out and loved it so much I knew I'd want to reread it. But with so many new books to read I like to reread using audio. The reader, Rob Shapiro, did probably the BEST audio reading I've experienced yet. He brought this story back to life for me and made me feel all the feels over again, if not more. His voice is still ringing in my ears, makes me want to start the book all over again. If you haven't read Making Faces yet, I highly recommend it. Amy Harmon's best work!!! And that's hard for me to say because I love all her books. It's just one of the most beautiful stories you could experience.

Would you listen to The Swan and the Jackal again? Why?

Absolutely.I have become addicted to this series and Luke Daniels does one of the most amazing jobs as a reader that I have experienced.

What other book might you compare The Swan and the Jackal to and why?

I can't, I've never read a book like this before and I love it.

What does the narrators bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

What don't they bring is the question. I became a big fan of Andi Arndt with another series she narrates so I was really excited to see her as one for this book. I became a fan of Katie Reinders is with books 1 and 2. And Luke Daniels, I can't even express properly what an amazing job he did. He had a different voice for each character and his voice alone was enough to hook me.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I definitely chuckled a few times. My heart broke for Frederick and there was a couple moments where my mouth fell open. Both times were moments I was not expecting or thought would happen.

Any additional comments?

I highly recommend this series. I can't get enough.

If you could sum up Lead in three words, what would they be?

Fun - Sweet - Addicting

What did you like best about this story?

Jimmy's story. Learning how to love. Learning how it's possible he can be loved. And Lina's character rocked!

Which character – as performed by Andi Arndt – was your favorite?

I can't pick honestly. Andi Arndt has been doing an outstanding job with this whole series! If I had to choose then Mal, she really brings his character to life. She also did a great job with Lina's character.

Any additional comments?

Each book in this series is great. Each story unique in it's own way. Each of them fun and sweet. And with each one Kylie Scott's writing becomes more addictive!

Jimmy's story so far might be my favorite. Which should say how much I loved this book because Mal is my absolute favorite character so to like it more than his story says it all.

What made the experience of listening to Fading the most enjoyable?

Piper Goodeye did an absolute amazing job!

Would you recommend Fading to your friends? Why or why not?

I'm not sure because although I really did enjoyed this story, it was the extra fluff that I didn't like so much and I'm not sure how others would like it.

What does Piper Goodeve bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She brings the story alive and all the characters. She made me feel the story.

Any additional comments?

3.5 StarsI have to say that I really liked this story and look forward to continuing the series. I especially enjoyed the slow build to Ryan and Candice’s relationship and then just completely and utterly fell in love with their connection. Now I appreciate when an author gives as much detail as possible because it really helps to get to know the characters and that’s what I want but the one thing I didn’t like about this one is the fluff, the filler parts that I just didn’t think were needed. I felt as though there were a lot of similar parts repeated. Shout out to Piper Goodeye who did an amazing job narrating this book!

YES because it was a different kind of story and I want to soak it all in. I'd listen to it again or maybe even read it so I can remember every moment told.

What did you like best about this story?

The originality. The characters. Their friends. Their strengths and their weakness and need for each other.

Have you listened to any of Jason Carpenter and Elizabeth Louise ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No I haven't, this was my first listening to either of them. Loved loved loved Jason Carpenter. He did an amazing job, really gets into character. Honestly it took me a while to get into Elizabeth Louise's voice but once I did I was hooked.
