Immediately after hearing these words, uttered to her by an old Romanian woman bleeding to death in the street, detective Eve Dallas begins to notice that her latest case has come with a number of interesting side-effects: visions of the deceased, instant familiarity with rooms she’s never seen before, and fluency in Russian.

I’ve been an Eve Dallas fan now for quite a few years and have enjoyed most of J.D. Robb’s In Death series. This one was shorter but nonetheless intriguing from the start and got better as it progressed. I also love meeting Dallas’ coworkers and friends and follow their story arcs over the novels. This was no exception and worked in Morris and the priest very well.
Bottom line is that I highly recommend it! 😊

My initial encounter with Mercedes Lackey's writing was Arrows of the Queen, the start of the Herald Talia series, back in the early 1990s. I was hooked. Since then I've read a great many of her books and, almost without exception, enjoyed them immensely. She is, after all, an exceptional storyteller.

I've haven't read all of the Elemental Masters series but this one intrigued me. Major kudos to the narrator for her performance of the Welsh accents of the several of the main characters and the beautiful pronunciation of the names of all of the various creatures out of Welsh folklore. The story, the characters, the locations are all very well done and thoroughly engaging.

If you're already a fan of Lackey's work, you'll enjoy this addition to her bibliography. If you are a lover of fantasy and good storytelling and considering this book, I highly recommend it!

Despite using a number of tried and true romantic tropes, Dane still manages to keep the characters interesting enough to carry along a story that is fairly predictable and sometimes a bit confusing. The addition of the sex is definitely a plus! Narrator did a great job!
