Diverse, dark-humored, and deliciously bite-sized: JT Lawrence ratchets up the tension with this compelling collection of short stories perfect for fans of Gillian Flynn and Roald Dahl. "Gatsby’s Double" - An artist’s Pomeranian has been replaced by an imposter. "Court, Marry, Kill" - Whose body ends up being unzipped by fish on the ocean floor? "Rockabye Baby" - A female-only cult has a very dark side. "He Did It" - A detective relies on his gut (and his hallucinations) to help him solve murder cases.

I love JT Lawrence and Roshina Ratnam is an awesome narrator, definitely top 5! This book is my first Sticky Fingers but not my first JT, I love the When Tomorrow Calls trilogy. JT’s style is unique, weird, depressing, compelling, brilliant, hilarious, and thought provoking. Excellent collection of short stories, some are fabulous others are ok, all are different and engaging! I definitely want the whole set! Freelance reporter Jack Mcmorrow stumbles onto a legalize marijuana movement at a local fair. The group seems harmless enough so he decides to write an article on them for the globe. As he starts to unravel all the different points of view regarding the legalize marijuana movement he stumbles onto a darker plot underneath it all. The story has lots of twists and turns and although I initially thought it was going to start out slow it quickly picked up and had many unexpected spins. I love Jack’s dry sarcasm and I think he’s a really great character. The narrator does a wonderful job and manages to bring across Jack’s sarcasm and just the right way. I’m looking forward to the next Jack Mcmorrow story. I received a free review copy of this book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Zara gets up to more trouble in this one. She tangles with a ghost, who isnt a ghost, meddles in business not her own; such as words randomly disappearing from books, cards, and magazines, snooping and following the townsfolk while still tries to deal with her aunt, her daughter and her heartthrob, yet dry, hunk of a neighbor. She also eats stuff she should’nt cuz why not?I love her quick wit and sarcasm and cannot wait for the next book! The narration is also fabulous! Pilgrimage is a stand-alone post-apocalyptic story of survival. It was previously published as three separate novellas: Crossing, Refuge, and Advent. High School teacher James Rockwell is vacationing in Maine with his family, when an earth-changing explosion sends them on a race for their lives. Their first step is escaping an island in the midst of a tsunami, and it only gets more dangerous from there. Can they find their way home as civilization crumbles around them? And if they do, what horrors will they find?

James and his family are vacationing when a strange event happens. After a meteor shower there is some kind of EMP and tsunami. Society seems to collapse overnight and James and his family struggle to get home. I really enjoyed the story as most apocalyptic stories have these long drawn out conflicts between various groups of survivors. Although there is conflict in this book they’re all resolved relatively quickly which helps hold the listeners attention. The narration was excellent! I would enjoy a sequel with these characters! This is the first I have listened to in this series, but it was easily treated as a stand alone. Olivia is a dog walker sister to a baker and girlfriend to an IT guy. She also has a tendency for some unauthorized crime solving but is on the straight and narrow to staying out of trouble. That is until her boyfriends agoraphobic partner disappears. This was a fun dog and frosting filled cozi and I look forward to more in the series. The narration is decent, took a little adjustment for some of the voices but it was fine by the end.
