The move into 889 Morgan Road was supposed to be a fresh start for Joseph Dubois and his family. What they got instead was a nightmare. At night, guttural noises issue from behind the walls, and the family reports seeing a terrifying figure wandering the premises. Desperately seeking someone with experience in supernatural matters, Joseph calls upon his uncle, Marcel. Retired surgeon Marcel Dubois has a special gift: The ability to communicate with his dead wife. Harnessing this gift allows him to plumb the depths of the afterlife and to confront the paranormal.

Marcel, a retired physician, gets an alarming call from his nephew. Joseph and his family have just moved into their new house in Detroit and are afraid it’s haunted. Marcel has dealt with the supernatural before with the secret help of his dead wife and offers to come up to help. Skeptical at first Marcel seeks to disprove any ghostly influence, however he quickly discovers there is more than first thought. A nice second installment and I am curious on which direction the next book will take. As always Joe Hempel does an amazing job! Kacey Chance is an aspiring actress with a cute face and a plucky attitude. She's trying to break into Hollywood, but it isn't easy. She was the prettiest girl in her hometown, but in LA she's a dime a dozen. When a friend offers Kacey a job working at a detective agency, the young actress jumps at the opportunity. The detective agency is unlike any she's ever seen in the movies. It's run by three handsome, single brothers and their sassy grandmother. Her first day at the agency is anything but boring.

Kacey Chase is an aspiring actress who is less aspiring and more over it. She is placed through a temp agency at a private investigator office, Booker Brothers Investigations. All of the brothers are attractive and one gets Kacey’s heart but we aren’t told which. A long time client hires the groups to retrieve a painting that was stolen from a party, he knows who did it so it should be open and shut. Or not. A wonderful mystery story, quite funny, and kept me guessing. The narration was excellent! I cant wait to download the next in the series.  The Legend of Sleepy Hollow is a horror story by American author Washington Irving. Written while Irving was living abroad in Birmingham, England, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow was first published in 1820. It is among the earliest examples of American fiction with enduring popularity, especially during Halloween because of a character known as the Headless Horseman believed to be a Hessian soldier who lost his head to a cannonball in battle.

Levin is in an emotionally abusive controlling relationship with Alec her fiancé. It opens up with Levin preparing to leave him discreetly and throughout the book there are a few flashbacks to explain the reasoning for her decision to leave. The man she loves may be a killer. The narration is well done and it is a character POV per chapter, one from Levin’s perspective and the next Alec. It definitely held my attention and I whipped thru it quite quickly. Definitely a good cat and mouse tale with a twist here and there. I look forward to more by this author and narrator. Zinnia is back to work at the permits department and as usual nothing is normal in Wisteria. Strange things begin to happen around the building, strange creatures appear and some new employees disappear. All the mystery centers around the 3rd floor of the building and 1955. A twisty turny magical hilarious adventure through time and worlds. As all paradoxical stories its not until the end that the aha moment occurs. Well worth it. This book also takes place during the same time period of Zara’s latest story so there is a little cross over, which was fun. As always I love this series and this latest installment and narration! Lacey is an avid runner and divorcée who is a member of the local running store’s running club. On a recent run Lacy’s nemesis and mean girl Marlene called her out on her running abilities in front of everyone. Lacey mistakenly tells her hotheaded bestie “Stax” and drama ensues. There is a loud argument followed by apologies and an odd repeated terrified mention of scissors by Marlene. On the following trail run event Marlene disappears without a trace. Lacy, Stax and their new eccentric old lady friend Ruby seek out the mystery and possibly murder. I thoroughly enjoyed this mystery which kept me guessing with red herrings and I must say is going to be one of my new favorite cozy mystery series, not that I need more. This collection is the first 4 books in the series for Priscilla Pratt vampire baker extraordinaire. I love this series, its light fun, and packed with good mysteries that keep you guessing!
In the first book "Fangs and Fondant" we are introduced to Priscilla who is a vampire, a baker, and a soon to be police consultant. After her super snobby bridezilla client is murdered Priscilla becomes the prime suspect. Were her confections what cost the girl her life?
The second book "Bite of Blueberry" Priscilla is faced with more snobbery and more murder. At yet another event Priscilla is catering a body turns up, one she had been the last person to see, and the one to find. Priscilla has stepped in it now.

"Blood in the Batter" strikes close to home for Priscilla quite literally when a body turns up in her shop with her good friend crouched over the body. Mistreatment of her friend by the police lead Priscilla and Arthurs relationship to sour. Will they mend fences to catch a killer?

"Holy Crepes" leads Priscilla to yet more death and blame. Why is she always in the wrong place at the wrong time? Aside from that an agent for the FBI's special vampire division, a handsome agent, has come to investigate the coincidence of Priscilla's placement near so many murders. Throw in some religious zealots and chaos again finds our girl.

I love this series. The narration is wonderful and Priscilla is hilarious. She finds herself in the middle of each murder with good humor. I enjoy the other characters of Arthur, Anna, Madison, and of course Ava her fairy godmother vixen. I am looking forward to buying the next books in the series. Keep them coming please. There are incidents and emergencies in the world that defy logical explanation, events that could be defined as supernatural, extraterrestrial, or simply otherworldly. Standard laws do not allow for such instances, nor are most officials or authorities trained to handle them. In recognition of these facts, one organization has been created that can. Assembled by a loose international coalition, their mission is to deal with these situations using diplomacy, guile, force, and strategy as necessary.

I usually like mystery and sci fi ghost stories, however this one was a little different. I found myself struggling a bit. What I cant figure out is if it was the story or the narrator. Now he wasn’t horrible, but I did not enjoy some of his voices, they were a bit exaggerated. I battled with the story one minute waiting hopefully for it to end and the next on the edge of my seat. It was a very love hate relationship. Basically a bunch of people in a small town begin hanging themselves. Investigations begin with professionals and amateur sleuths alike they band together to go on a ghost hunt and end up finding more. On the fence with this one. Good story, meh narration. The potty training portion is more the weekend boot camp style, but there is still helpful information if the child is already partially potty trained or older. Definitely recommended.
