Socially awkward Joellen Bixby has a date every Saturday - with her cat, a pint of ice cream, and fantasies of the way-too-handsome Michael Maddox. She’d give anything to win over the unattainable CEO of her firm, but how can she when she blends in so well with her cubicle? The answer may be closer than she thinks. Cameron McGregor is a cocky, tattooed Scottish rugby captain who just moved in next door. He’s not Jo’s type - at all - but the notorious playboy is offering to teach the wallflower everything he knows about inspiring desire.

You know how people say you can never believe what you read on the interwebs? That a hot guy online is probably a creeper with a beer gut and a shoe fetish, not the sexy beast he pretends to be? So I had no clue that the anonymous blogger who contacted my law firm about his naughty website would be droolworthy in real life. Not that I'm interested in him in that way. Attorneys can't go around sleeping with their clients. Not even if he is the most beautiful man I've ever met and so ridiculously smart he makes my nerdy-girl heart sigh.

Love the story. Love the characters. Except the endless insertion of the “F” word. I just really don’t get it. These 2 were decent people, I mean not junkies or anything, so I don’t really understand why the use that word every time.

My name is Calla Price. I'm 18 years old, and I'm one half of a whole. My other half - my twin brother, my Finn - is crazy. I love him. More than life, more than anything. And even though I'm terrified he'll suck me down with him, no one can save him but me. I'm doing all I can to stay afloat in a sea of insanity, but I'm drowning more and more each day. So I reach out for a lifeline. Dare Dubray. He's my savior and my Antichrist. His arms are where I feel safe, where I'm afraid, where I belong, where I'm lost.

Tedious to listen , often put me to sleep. When it was reveled that the all was just in Cala’s head, i think it’s a bit preposterous. Then it’s a hanging end. To be continued. It’s a trilogy!!! Had I known, I would not bother to buy this at all. And I’m not even interested to know what it is.
The 1 star I gave is for lulling me to sleep.

Jimmy Lee Hickam grew up along Red Dog Road, a dead-end strip of gravel and mud buried deep in the bowels of Appalachian Ohio. It is the poorest road, in the poorest county, in the poorest region of the state. To make things worse, the name Hickam is synonymous with trouble. Jimmy Lee hails from a heathen mix of thieves, moonshiners, drunkards, and general anti-socials that for decades have clung to both the hardscrabble hills and the iron bars of every jail cell in the region. This life, Jimmy Lee believes, is his destiny, someday working with his drunkard father at the sawmill, or sitting next to his arsonist brother in the penitentiary.

It's a great love storyline, love all the characters. But too much cussing especially the first few chapters. I don't think you need that much cussing just to get the message out that you're angry. Other than that, it's really a good romantic novel.

Not good as audible because the author read it. He does not know how to change or alter his voice. So you don't know who is talking.
The story started real good , Rowan a professor who fall in love with his student who is black. Until it came to his daughter falling in love with his half brother. And the story just went on and on and on.

The story is not bad, but the narrator is just awful because he seems to have the same voice for most of the male characters, as well as the female, and sometimes I think he forgets whose voice he's suppose to be using. Otherwise story is good except the ending, I wish, fervently hope that Jake Travis will tell Cynthia what the Cardinal last words were.

Thank you Pat Conroy for weaving such a wonderful story. I almost thought this is a true story. It is the tragic story of 3 siblings, it tells us that the choicest we made can make or shape us, either good or bad. The "what if " each one of them had taken or made another move. I must say I feel sad at the end for the choice or sacrifice that Tom Wingo has to make.
This is definitely one of the novel in my best lists.
