Troy Brennan: Every Southie in Boston knows that name. The son of a dead mobster. The heartthrob with steel-blue eyes. "The Fixer" who can make or break you in this city. Oh, and my new husband. Sparrow Raynes: That's me. No one seemed to remember my name up until he barged into my life. But then he caged me. Kidnapped me. And killed every chance I had to run away from the place where we grew up.

My relationship with Hunter Delucia started backwards. We met at a wedding. Stealing glances at each other throughout the night, there was no denying an intense, mutual attraction. I caught the bouquet; he caught the garter. Hunter held me tightly while we danced and suggested we explore the chemistry sparking between us. His blunt, dirty mouth should’ve turned me off. But for some crazy reason, it had the opposite effect on me. We ended up back in my hotel room. The next morning, I headed home to New York leaving him behind in California with the wrong number.

First, Sebastian York. Ohh. Myyy. Gawd. The small doses of Hunter’s story made the book. I loved every bit of it. And I know someone who went through something similar. Which thankfully doesn’t impact my perception of the characters. Because holy hotness. I mean, Hunter’s filthy mouth is better than foreplay. And I love the progression of Nat and her daughter.

I really wasn’t sure how to feel about this book in the beginning. Much like Sara, I wanted to hate Peter. But as time passed (and I finished this audiobook in a day) I grew to like the man. And although Sebastian York doesn’t use a Russian accent through all his chapters, when he does, my blood boils. He drives me wild in the best ways. This is also the first I’ve heard from Tracy Marks, and I thoroughly enjoyed her as well.

Concerned that technology is about to chase mythological creatures out into the open (how long can Sasquatch stay hidden from Google maps?), the League for Interspecies Cooperation is sending Jillian to Louisiana on a fact-finding mission. While the League hopes to hold on to secrecy for a little bit longer, they're preparing for the worst in terms of human reactions. They need a plan, so they look to Mystic Bayou, a tiny town hidden in the swamp where humans and supernatural residents have been living in harmony for generations.
