Meg's Controller keeps her enslaved so he can have full access to her visions. But when she escapes, the only safe place Meg can hide is at the Lakeside Courtyard - a business district operated by the Others. Shape-shifter Simon Wolfgard is reluctant to hire the stranger who inquires about the Human Liaison job.

The world of The Others is a fascinating place. The story is compelling and engaging. I want to spend time with the folks in the courtyard and learn everything about this world. Meg and Simon are well written characters and I cannot get enough of their stories.

The Lunar Chronicles series is fantastic and I highly recommend all the books! Book 2 picks up where book 1 left off with Cinder, but also introduces new characters and new places. I enjoy how the story lines weave together.

Strong female characters, creative retelling of well known fairy tales, sci fi, believable and relatable characters!

"True belonging doesn't require us to change who we are. It requires us to be who we are." Social scientist Brené Brown, PhD, LMSW, has sparked a global conversation about the experiences that bring meaning to our lives - experiences of courage, vulnerability, love, belonging, shame, and empathy. In Braving the Wilderness, Brown redefines what it means to truly belong in an age of increased polarization.

I am a huge Brené Brown fan overall. Listening to Braving the Wilderness is grey because Brené narrates the book herself. I find that I am able to connect with the material more when it is Brené narrating. There are many great gems of topics in this book that I want to hear and read over and over again. I love her distinction between Belonging and Fitting In and how every day social niceties can prevent us from being our whole selves. I think this is her best work since The Power of Vulnerability (also available on audible!).

Human laws do not apply in the territory controlled by the Others - vampires, shape-shifters, and paranormal beings even more deadly. And this is a fact that humans should never, ever forget.... Towns like Vicki's have no distance from the Others, the dominant predators that rule most of the land and all of the water throughout the world. I liked Meg’s stories better than this one, but I thoroughly enjoyed all the new characters and this book does not disappoint.
