London, 2019. Life has been easy for Maxim Trevelyan. With his good looks, aristocratic connections, and money, he’s never had to work, and he’s rarely slept alone. But all that changes when tragedy strikes and Maxim inherits his family’s noble title, wealth, and estates, and all the responsibility that entails. It’s a role he’s not prepared for and one that he struggles to face. But his biggest challenge is fighting his desire for an unexpected, enigmatic young woman who’s recently arrived in England, possessing little more than a dangerous and troublesome past.

This is Maxim and Alissa’s story. I was looking forward to this book. Frequently this will leave me disappointed because my expectations are high. Not true in this case. The plot is well developed and the characters are believable and also well developed. That being said the storyline tended to lag with the inner thinking’s of Maxim.

It is a fabulous listen. I think Dominic Thorburn did a better job with his part than Jessica O’hara-Baker did. All in all, this was a good listen. I will probably listen probably listen to it again. It is very credit-worthy!

Want, need, pain, and joy were emotions Shade had never known existed before Lily. He knew the first time he saw her face that she was going to change his life forever. The thing he hadn't expected was how hard it would be to hide who and what he was from her. Each step he took out of the shadows revealed more of himself until only one secret remained. Shade arrogantly believed he could help heal the wounds from her past, but now it was his own past that was trying to tear them apart.

I enjoyed the story and characters of this book but the narrator annoyed me.

Carly Robins would be a good dual narrator but her male voices are terrible.

This book would have been a better read than listen. I hate saying negative things but I feel I need to be honest or quiet.

I have listened to both books in this duet. The boy and his ribbon is the first book and the story concept caught my attention. Both are well written and the narration is fantastic. That being said, the story has a very sad undercurrent with the predictable sad ending.

So, if you require a happily ever after, this is not the book for you. It is gritty and angst. It’s a love story that works its way into your sole. I loved it and would recommend it highly

Well worth your credits for both books!

Is it worth your credit or cash? Most definitely!! It is a fantastic read and a great finish to the story started in 'Into the Light'
