Great book. All things we do in life are motivated by pleasure and pain. Change what you associate pleasure and pain. This book also helped me realize what I really want in life, it was incredible that some things I thought I wanted went away and others made themselves known unto me. If you go see a Chiropractor for a back adjustment. Read this book for a attitude and mental adjustment. Very inspiring and uplifting.
Tony is the man, I recommend all his books. I hope one day I can meet him. I have a dream
For anyone who knows Tony Robbins, and his work, will know that he pretty much invented the whole "Life Coaching" movement. However, the differences between him and the rest are he continues to out pace everyone and his messages stands the test of time. He definitely drinks his own cool-aid. His system works for himself and for his mentees, proving its validity.
The points that he makes are pretty obvious and consistent with any other blogs that can be found on Life Hacks.
The primary take away from this is that our rate limiting beliefs hold us back and our in-actions, as a result, feeds back into those negative beliefs. The way to fight this is through decision making and consistent action.
He's a great motivator and an amazing story teller. Tony has a talent for communication and connection.
However his message can be summed up by one infamous shoe advertisement:
"Just do it." -Nike
I loved it as I do "The Giant" that shared this trail of bread crumbs with us who are willing to Believe that our failure are the secret to our real True success in Life... See you at the top.

This book will give you a strong framework for designing your life. Inspirational and instructional, it provides just the right jumpstart for making proactive and positive choices.
Listening to this will probably be enjoyable but not so effective. There are no revolutionary approaches to success.
Hence the mediocre reviews.
What there IS though, is a few good methods that will allow you to change your thinking behavior and attitude so that you can apply what you know. I suspect most people do not apply what they know and its fair to say that lack of information is not the leading cause of underachievement. What is? INACTION. This book contains top notch excersises to relieve that condition.
People who will stop the recording and DO the excersises, and especially those who will do this repeatedly, will experience a change in thinking and action that will improve every aspect of life to which its applied. I honestly believe that.
Hence the religion-like devotion and five star reviews.
Bottom line, if you don't do the excersises don't bother. If you will, it'll help a lot.
Don't "drink the koolaide" but why not dedicate a few hours as a test? That's what I did, skeptically, and have found it really works.
