Ice Age History Kid

The early history of Earth covers such vast stretches of time that years, centuries, and even millennia become virtually meaningless. Instead, paleontologists and scientists who study geochronology divide time into periods and eras. What humans commonly refer to as the “Ice Age” is actually a series of fluctuating climate events that have occurred throughout the planet’s history. These ongoing historical phenomena are difficult to conceptualize because of both the time frame involved and the natural process by which they cyclically unfold.

The first book starts off at the mammoth hunt on Mammoth Cliff where the caveman kids adopt a baby mammoth who got separated from the herd during the hunt. The story continues with the caveman kids and their Clan finally finding a new home after they are nearly swept away in a flash flood. The cavemen kids first met the baby mammoth after the Mammoth Hunt and since the baby mammoth had nowhere to go it just followed the kids. The baby mammoth followed the kids back to the river where a heavy downpour upstream swelled the river and this wall of water came swirling towards the kids and the family. They were lucky the mammoth had started to run up the hill and kids and the tribe followed it. The tribe found a new cave to live in but they were in the territory of the Spotted Beast and the Spotted Beast came back for lunch but Grandpa was waiting and killed the Beast. The clan ...

After the Wall of Fire the Caveman Kids and the clan have turned scavenger as they search the plain for animals who did not survive the fire so they can take them back to their cave. While out scavenging they meet the other scavengers like the cave Lions and the Howling Beasts, but because there is food everywhere the animals are not hunting they have all eaten there fill and are just out and about on the plain. It is here the Little Clan meet the Howling Beasts as the howling beasts are using the river for water and it seems as though the little clan might have inadvertently also stumbled ...

So far the Caveman Kids have had nearly everything nature has thrown at them except the Wall of Sand. This time they are crouched under the mammoth skins as the day turns to night and the howling wind tries to cover them with sand. The sand creeps through all the gaps and holes in the mammoth skins and where they are tightly wrapped around each other the sand still manages to get in. When the wind dies down and the Sun comes out they crawl out from under the Skins to a completely changed landscape.
