There are beings who walk unseen through the world, demons with evil in their dark, twisted souls. The young demon Succubus, summoned to the prison world of rock and fire, is learning to curse, using the dark lore of his kind. Talented and reckless, he desires to enter the world of humans. Meanwhile two brothers, Jonathan and Solomon, live in suburban Chicago with their parents. Solomon’s clear blue eyes see things others don’t and he helps his older brother navigate childhood.

The demon lords suspect a betrayer in their midst. Meanwhile, the demon Succubus is with Jonathan, hiding out in the Maine wilderness to escape the Rider and his criminal organization. It is becoming more apparent to Jonathan that the connection between the worlds is allowing demons to wreak havoc on humankind.

The demon Succubus has escaped his dark prison where the more powerful prey on the weak. He now roams the suburbs of Chicago with two young humans. The younger of these, Solomon, has wisdom beyond his years and sees potential in this shadowy figure. A demon’s sole purpose is to bring pain and ruin to humankind, yet Solomon believes Succubus has the ability to learn a better way, to use his demonic powers for good, and sets about showing him how. His success or failure could have ramifications for both demons and humans far into the future.
