  • Episode 230 | Andrea Busby | Pushing Boundaries on the Road to the NFR
    May 2 2025

In Episode 230 of In The LOOP, we sit down with 2024 National Finals Barrel Racing Aggregate Champion, Andrea Busby for one of the most honest and inspiring conversations we’ve had yet. From early rodeo days to finally crossing the Thomas & Mack threshold, Andrea brings us through every twist, turn, and tough lesson along the way.

We talk about what it truly took for her to make her first NFR — and why the timing couldn’t have been better. Andrea opens up about her journey through horse injuries, mental fatigue, and rebuilding her confidence mid-season. She shares the impact of mentors like Brittany Pozzi-Tonozzi and Sue Smith, and how their guidance helped her grow both as a horsewoman and as a competitor.

This episode digs into the gritty realities of rodeo life — from engine failures and barrier mistakes to the pressure of placing when every dollar counts. We reflect on her placing in 9 out of 10 NFR rounds, winning the average, and doing it all with grace, grit, and deep faith.

Andrea reminds us that success isn’t about a single run — it’s about the thousands of miles, hard days, and quiet victories that lead you there. Her story is powerful, relatable, and full of the kind of wisdom we all need to hear.

  • #229 - From the Office to the Arena: Criquett Chapman on Breaking Boundaries in Rodeo
    Apr 18 2025

In this episode of In The LOOP with Jordan Jo, we sit down with Criquett Chapman — a vice president by day and a fierce competitor by weekend. Criquett shares her incredible journey from a small-town team roper with no rodeo legacy to breaking barriers in the WRWC as a limited breakaway roper. We talk about balancing career and competition, growing up in sports, family roping adventures, and stepping outside your comfort zone. This one’s for every woman who juggles it all — and still shows up to win.

She’s a mom, a wife, a full-time VP at a college… and still finds time to throw her name in the hat at the Women’s Rodeo World Championships. Criquett isn’t just stepping into the arena—she’s stepping way outside her comfort zone to compete in three divisions this year: Pro Heading, Challenger Heeling, and for the first time ever, Limited Breakaway.

We dove into everything—how growing up in a non-rodeo family shaped her grit, the accident that changed her family’s season, and what it’s like to compete in the same division as her teenage daughter. Criquett opened up about balancing a demanding career while chasing big goals in the roping pen, and the courage it takes to go head-to-head with athletes half her age.

One of my favorite parts of our chat? Hearing her talk about stepping into breakaway after a lifetime of team roping, and why she’s doing it to support the growth of women’s rodeo—especially for the next generation. Criquett reminded me that you’re never too late, too busy, or too old to chase what lights your fire.

  • #228 - Big Checks & Bigger Dreams: Inside the WRWC Grind with Martha Angelone
    Apr 4 2025

Y’all, this week’s episode is super special to me—I'm bringing back the very first guest I ever had on the show: my good friend, rodeo legend, and multi-time World Champion Martha Angelone.

I’ll never forget when we recorded our first episode—literally in the front seat of a Dodge truck at circuit finals with a cell phone and Raymond in the backseat. Fast forward, and now Martha’s back with a ton of wins, big money earned, and even bigger insight on how she’s crushing the Women’s Rodeo World Championships game.

We talked all things WRWC, and Martha didn’t hold anything back. She broke down exactly how she’s earned over $325K in WCRA and more than $228K in WRWC—from her weekly nomination strategy to how she sets herself up for success in breakaway, heading, and heeling.

One of my favorite moments from the episode was hearing her talk about winning $90K in one week, buying her horse Jesse James, and how that single moment changed her career. Martha is proof that hard work, strategy, and a little faith go a long way.

One thing Martha said that hit me hard:

“If I didn’t keep going, I wouldn’t be here today… not on this podcast, not anywhere.”

If you haven’t started nominating yet, let this episode light that fire. And hey, use my code HOLLABAUGH10 to save some money on those entries. I’ll see y’all in May at the WRWC Finals!
