  • a2VV: HSHV Pet of the Week 5/22/25
    May 22 2025

Meet the HSHV Pet of the week at https://www.hshv.org/petsoftheweek-2/

Hi my name is Mary Linda! I am a shy cat looking for a patient adopter who is willing to give me time to adjust and open up in my new home. I can be rather shy so I would prefer a quieter home without younger children. Once I get comfortable, I will come out of my shell and start to show more of my true personality. After all, the best things in life are worth waiting for – like a special bond with a cat who likes the calmer side of life.

Mary Linda is Feline Leukemia (FeLV) positive. FeLV is a serious virus that is contagious to other cats (but not contagious to people or other species of animals). It may cause a shortened lifespan but FeLV cats have so much fun and love to give. Please call or come in to find out more.

All the animals available for adoption through the Humane Society of Huron Valley (HSHV) are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on their vaccinations and have a microchip I.D. which is included in their affordable adoption fee.

    washtenawliteracy.org

Believing that literacy is the foundation for a sustainable community, Washtenaw Literacy provides literacy support, free of charge, to adults through a network of trained tutors. It is their vision to eliminate illiteracy in Washtenaw County. Since 1971, they have been empowering adults through improved literacy with in-person and virtual programs. Join them in changing lives and promoting equity in our community.

"SENTENCED" is an immersive and vulnerable exploration of the epidemic of childhood illiteracy, told through a series of braided, character-driven stories. Executive produced and narrated by four-time NBA Champion Stephen Curry, Sentenced is more than a film—it’s a call to action.
