Thomas misses out on seeing the risen Jesus and asks for a more tactile revelation than that given to the other apostles. However, when Jesus does appear to Thomas we understand that there are blessings to those who believe without having seen.

On Good Friday Rev Luke spoke with Richard Perno at 2CC about the blessings of Easter and how the message of the risen Jesus can bring hope to an often troubled and skeptical world.

Matthew's gospel records that both supporters and opponents of Jesus admit that his body disappeared from the tomb on the Sunday morning after his death. Matthew addresses the Stolen Body theory and instead points us to the experiences of the women who were at the tomb and saw Jesus raised to life again.

Pontius Pilate desperately wanted to avoid having to do something about this Jewish mystic who seemed no danger to anyone, but the anger of the city leaders meant that he had to act one way or the other. The same challenge remains with us as we think about Jesus crucified today - can we get away with Doing Nothing or do we have to Do Something?
