Yann LeCun’s New Bet Against Current AI

His new company is focused on what he calls Advanced Machine Intelligence systems that understand the physical world, can reason causally, and have long-term memory. Think of the difference between a parrot that can mimic conversation and a person who actually understands what they're saying. LeCun wants to build the latter.
