Yang is Katelyn and Yin is Mike. What makes us different IS us. We come from vastly different backgrounds, thus giving us vastly different experiences and approaches to seeing the world. Katelyn is a small town girl who lived in Massachusetts nearly her entire life. Minus 2 vacations to Florida in her teen years, she'd never been outside of New England. Mike is a city boy who, although born in Baltimore, grew up in Orlando FL. He'd been all over the country and abroad. Long story short, they met when their pasts separately took them to New Hampshire. They fell in love, and moved (back, for Mike), to Florida.
This is the introduction to a channel that questions things in society. As Americans, there are quite a few things that we are expected to accept to live here. They're accepted, but we question if they should be acceptable. We'll challenge their supposed validity, or in some cases legal status, then dive into the reasoning behind the used justification. Mike will talk about the things that he questions, to which Katelyn might add input, and vice-versa.
Topics will include things like inflation, income requirements for apartments, and workplace toxicity among others. Further, we'll explore the phrase "it is what it is" and how instead of being ridiculed as stupid, it has transcended into so much normalcy that those who criticize it are the ones who end up being ridiculed. Welcome to Yang & Yin.
