  • Writeopolis S11 E2 - Intisar Khanani
    Feb 9 2026

Series 11 kicked off with a host-only episode, in which one of the hosts failed to turn up, the intern fired himself and Bosch was mentioned so instant bingo. Also featured were 700 eggs, a giant TV, gold bullion, "Ahh, bed milk" and fascinating lacrosse facts. Unfortunately, as it was Kit who failed to turn up, there was no recording but, in hindsight, that may be a good thing...

However, all went well for episode 2 and the recording bot behaved itself, therefore you get to listen back to the glorious Intisar Khanani fully embracing the chaos of Writeopolis! Including:

    • RJ failing to turn up and immediately being slandered by Kit

    • Scott diving straight into Doctor Who – but a book, not the show! (Before immediately going back to the show. Obviously)

    • Kit's delightful exclamation of "wow I didn't know machine guns fired swords"

    • Intisar reveals her hidden talent involving The Addams Family

    • The citizens being frankly shocked by the number of books in the 'what media have we been consuming' section

    • "Reading is great!" is uttered to the surprise of all

    • Intisar asks the hosts questions that gets them to really think about the things they're doing. A very unusual occurrence!

    • RJ annoys Kit without even being present

    • And the playlist additions are possibly the most eclectic we've ever had.

All this and so, so much more! Listen in for all the fun!

  • Writeopolis S10 E5 - Dungeons and Disorderly with David Thomas Moore
    Feb 3 2026

Series 10 concluded with a glorious crossover episode with David Thomas Moore running a game of Dungeons and Disorderly for our three hosts!

There is quite simply no way to summarise this episode in any way that will make sense, so without further ado:

    • Paddington Bear Stare

    • We must save the Writeoponomicon!

    • STET!

    • Tiny glove with a white whale on it

    • Regret

    • "We are writers answering the call to adventure!"

    • Keeper Sutherland - not to be confused with Kiefer Sutherland (who also makes an appearance)

    • "We're like a family here."

    • Bertie the wizard cat

    • A Pope-firing trebuchet

    • An unsettling encounter with a goat

Listen in for all this and more! So much more... You would not believe how much more we managed to cram into this episode. No, none of it makes sense. None. Enjoy!

  • Writeopolis S10 E3 - Andrea Stewart
    Jan 20 2026

The guests returned for episode 3 with Andrea Stewart!

Which of course meant one of the hosts was missing.

    Also in this episode:

    • The chat seriously overestimate RJ's tech skills

    • Scott reads a book! Not during the episode, obviously. It's not that kind of podcast.

    • Andrea introduces the hosts to One Piece

    • Scott starts an argument with the words "The ending was even worse than Lost"

    • The Writeoponomicon is pleased as Andrea teases a new secret project, discusses craft and shares an amazing source for fantasy travel research

    • Some good urtexts make an appearance

    • Kit laments failing to get Black Sabbath tickets

    • And, inevitably, Mephi!

  • Writeopolis S10 E2 - Host only
    Jan 13 2026

Season 10 continues with the hosts being set free without any guest to rein in their shenanigans.
    Inevitably, excessive shenanigans ensue. Including:

    • A discussion about Winnie the Pooh that leads to sinister pork adverts

    • Scott gets so annoyed with S2 of The Night Agent, he goes into full spoiler mode (you have been warned)

    • David Lynch

    • 10 seasons in and Scott figures out how Discord works

    • Kit gets into serious writing talk

    • RJ teases his current project

    • And there is an unusually long music discussion

Listen in for all this and even more chaos!

  • Writeopolis S10 E1 - Jonathan Oliver
    Jan 6 2026

Season 10 kicked off with the delightful Jonathan Oliver, who immediately awed everyone with his impressive resume!
Followed by some strong thoughts from RJ about Red One,
Scott's wrath being triggered over Doctor Who,
    A Star Wars is discussed,
Kit gets to discuss Stephen King,
Some very interesting UrTexts make an appearance,
Jon gives us interesting insight into the editorial world,
And marketing as a concept is thoroughly insulted.

Listen in for all this and so much more!

  • Writeopolis S9 E7 - One Star Quiz!
    Dec 30 2025

The glorious One Star Quiz returns! This time starring the most independent of adjudicators Laura Mauro, the fabulous James Worrad and the 'counts as one person' Tiny Bookcase Ben and Nico!

Expect absolutely fair scoring, Ulysses, help/hindrance from the audience, egregious attempts at a Leeds accent, tapirs, facts about Tolkien that the hosts really should have known, and absolutely no cheating or betrayal whatsoever.

Well, maybe a little. What's a One Star Quiz without at least a little betrayal, after all!
