Finding My Voice: How speaking up changed my life by Jennifer Robertson

Jennifer grew up living in Canada and the United States. Jennifer experienced trauma in her life. However, she didn’t allow that to keep her down or cause her to dwell on the negative. Jennifer knew she had to rely on herself to make a life for herself, and that is precisely what she did.

Jennifer is known for her laugh and great sense of humor; she loves to infuse fun and joy into everything she does. She is a natural go-getter, and for the past 25 years, she has been transforming the doldrums of streamlining businesses into a process that would be fun and easy for the business owner.

Jennifer is described as a good listener who is caring and loving. She has a vision for her life that others admire as she makes her way in the world. She excels in helping others and has worked with executives as well as financial advisors. Jennifer has done everything from corporate event planning to policy and procedure development and even some cold calling. She knows what needs to be done, and she is on it!

She lives in Surrey, British Columbia, in a sweet condo she bought for herself many years ago. Jennifer believes that living a healthy life, mind, body, and spirit, is essential to living her best life. And these days, that is exactly what she does.

In my past life, I was a preschool and Adjunct Art Teacher and am now a Vision Board Coach and Essential Oil Educator. I am a graduate of Utica College of Syracuse University. I'm a Certified Yoga Instructor-Evolve Yoga, Reiki 1 Level-Jamie Lee, Animal Bonds, Doterra Essential Oil Specialist, Certified in Meditation from the University of Central Florida, and Certified Vision Board Coach with Joyce Schrawz.

I love life! And yes, I jumped out of an airplane at 60, zip-lined at 62, love swimming in the ocean, and enjoy canoeing with my hubby, Roger. Honestly, there isn't much that I don't like to do. And my husband will tell you that I keep life interesting.

My passion is playing with my Doterra Essential Oils, Creating Art, and living life to the fullest with my awesome hubby of 33 years. Together we are grandparents to eight grandchildren whom we love and cherish beyond, and oh boy, they are keeping us young at heart!

My goal is to guide women struggling with manifesting, discover the power of using essential oils with vision boards, and bring their dreams and goals into reality. I will tell you that I don't teach you just to create a cute crafty project.

Instead, I guide you on how to prepare first so you know how to use your vision board, so it works. I am making it my life purpose to share my Creativity and Educate with Kindness to ignite others to Dream with Passion and joy!

I love helping women and showing them they can receive what they want in life. I suffered a mild depression silently after losing my daughter to suicide. My husband, Essential oils, meditation, friends, and a lot of self-development kept me grounded. It's been a long journey, but I now have the right tools to move into the light. Hopefully, my story will help someone who has gone through a rough patch in life. For me, creating vision boards has been therapeutic.

"A Vision Board without a VISION is simply a crafty project." So, if you are sick of creating crafty vision boards that end up in a drawer, I understand! Because I have been there, I know exactly how you feel! My technique for a POWERFUL vision board is to generate a vision board that reaps the ultimate results.

Brenda-Lee Huot-Hunter wrote her story in Women Like Me From Loss To Living.

Why Every Child Should Matter
Another story of our shattered child welfare system.


Brenda-Lee was raised in Surrey, BC, Canada. She often says that “For the most part, I have lived a charmed life.” She was raised by great parents who taught her the importance of working in service for others, which led to her calling as a Foster parent for over two dozen children.

Beyond the opportunity to open her home and heart to children at a time when they needed it, she also was able to advocate for families and children who were struggling with the child welfare system.

She currently works for an NFP (Not For Profit), which supports youth and their caregivers who are experiencing challenges around mental health and substance use issues.

She has been blessed with three daughters, three grandchildren, and “the best third husband ever!”

Kim Mallory was told on a Friday evening that she may not live until Monday! Kim's story is about the life-changing events that happened to her while facing death.

Kim Mallor wrote a Tribute to the Brave and Wise in Women Like Me. She is in chapter one of the book, "22 Vials - FROM 60 TO ZERO ENERGY AWARENESS."

My name is Kim Mallory. I'm a Holistic Wellness Practitioner.

Before 2020, I had been running through life, never stopping to rest or listen to my body, and I got critically ill. It took a two-year health crisis and a subsequent bone marrow transplant for me to understand the effects of stress on our bodies and the importance of the mind, body, and spirit connection.

When I began to heal and get my life back, I struggled with returning to my Real Estate career. I had learned to trust my intuition and follow my heart, and I wanted to help others heal and work through the stresses of life & managing a crisis... I was given a second chance for a reason, and I know what I've learned needs to be shared.

Colinda Laviolette wrote her story in Women Like Me - From Loss To Living. Colinda's chapter is titled RETURNING TO MY INDIGENOUS CULTURE - Healed my heart

Colinda of Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation of Fort Chipewyan, Alberta, on Treaty 8 Territory, grew up in a small isolated Indigenous community. She is the mother of six sons, the youngest two of whom live with Down syndrome. Colinda pursued a career with the GNWT Justice Department within the Corrections Service.

Training in trauma with Dr. Gabor Mate, Colinda shares the knowledge, teachings, and education she has acquired throughout this experience. She has found true joy and passion in showing others that anything is possible when you believe in yourself. She is a speaker and writer and has trained as a trauma therapist, working with both western and Indigenous cultural/spiritual practices.

She has been featured on CBC Radio and on various panels and is a contributor to “Women Like Me Community: Messages to Younger Self.” An avid podcast guest and presenter, her most recent projects include writing a chapter for a book based on her personal story, being elected to the Board of Directors for Courage in Action, and conducting Diversity and Inclusion training on behalf of the Compassionate Inquiry.

In her spare time, she enjoys creating beadwork and facilitating beading workshops.
