In this teaching on Numbers 13-14, we analyze the mission of the twelve spies and the two very different reports they brought back. While ten spies focused on the strength of the walled cities and the size of the inhabitants, Joshua and Caleb looked at the power of the one who promised them victory. The sermon examines the consequences of the people's rebellion—their desire to return to Egypt and the subsequent judgment that led to forty years of wandering. We discuss how fear can blind us to his provision and how trust in his word is the only way to move forward into the "land flowing with milk and honey."
