  • Round table discussion on a transformed working life and civil society
    Sep 10 2022
In this episode, we'll continue the discussions about work, this time in the form of a roundtable discussion about a transformed working life and civil society. This discussion was part of a conference launching the pamphlet Basic Income – Cornerstone of the Nordic Welfare State held in Helsinki, Finland in November 2021.
Around the digital table sat artist Narcy Calamatta from Malta, anthropologist Martin Schoenhals from the US and sociologist Gummi (Gudmundur) Oddsson from Iceland together with Gerdur Palmadottir from Iceland, who has a contribution about civil society in the pamphlet and me, Vivan Storlund from Finland and the Netherlands with a contribution about a transformed working life.

  • We need philosophical discussions about work
    Aug 24 2022
There are many things we need to rethink in the transition from an industrial society to a digital one. Work is one of them. We need the kind of discussions that the American anthropologist Martin Schoenhals, http://worldcat.org/identities/lccn-n93001364/ and the British economist Geoff Crocker, https://www.ubi.org/82/The-Case-for-Basic-Income offer in this episode.
