There are so many reasons for Prayer but let's focus on the reasons put forward by JESUS; "that ye fall not into temptation" Temptation is the urge to do or think something wrong Because the disciples failed to pray, when they were tempted, Peter reacted violently in cutting a soldier's ear and the disciples abandoned Jesus and ran away.
