Why Your Words Matter More Than You Think

Good morning and welcome to Wake Up with Pastor Scot and Pastor Holly.

Today we’re in Colossians 4:6 — “Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt.” Our words matter more than we often realize. Just like a small rudder steers a large ship, the words we speak guide the direction of our lives, our relationships, and our future.

Even being slightly off with our words—negative comments, harsh responses, or careless speech—can slowly move us far away from where we want to go. But when our speech is filled with grace, kindness, and wisdom, it opens the door for healthier conversations, stronger relationships, and greater influence in the lives of others.

In this episode, Pastor Scot and Pastor Holly talk about learning to listen before responding, speaking with grace even when we disagree, and how slowing down our words can transform marriages, friendships, and everyday conversations.

When we choose grace in our speech, we give God room to work in our relationships and in the hearts of those around us.
