The space between your sets.
Most people I coach — whether in my group fitness classes or one-on-one — they think just because they’re lifting weights, they’re doing strength training. But that’s not how the body works.
You can be holding a barbell and still not be strength training.
What determines whether your training builds strength, muscle, endurance, or just gets you sweaty —
Isn’t the exercise. It’s the stimulus. And REST is a major part of that stimulus.
