We're talking about what happened when we first met. The difficulties of suddenly being a family with - in hindsight - very little preparation. Darcey and Ellie also talk heartbreakingly about what they were feeling when they met us and how little trust they had for the adults around them, which might help new adopters understand the behaviours their children are presenting.
