Dr Katie Groom is the Senior Medical Director at VEG (Veterinary Emergency Group) in Brentwood & St Peters. She joins Megan Lynch as March is Pet Poison Awareness Month. She say there are, 'a lot of things we don't think of,' in our house that can be poison to pets. She says sugar free human medications can be toxic, so can anti-freeze and larger quantities of chocolate. 'The richer the chocolate, and typically the less tasty,' says Groom, 'the more dangerous it is.' She says it is challenging to see the symptoms of an ingestion of poison.
