What are you storing in your spiritual heart? This question cuts to the core of our faith journey and eternal destination. Every believer must understand that the heart isn't merely a physical organ but a spiritual storage place that determines the trajectory of our lives.
The podcast reveals four distinct types of spiritual hearts people possess in their relationship with God. The collapsed heart stands hardened against divine truth, while the shallow heart seeks just enough spiritual connection to feel comfortable without commitment. The distracted heart, pulled in countless directions by worldly concerns, claims to trust God while worrying constantly. But the open heart—developed through genuine relationship with our Creator—stores God's spirit, love, and power, manifesting through transformed actions and kingdom-focused desires.
Scripture warns us about what God detests: pride, dishonesty, violence, malicious plotting, eagerness to do wrong, false testimony, and those who sow discord among families. A person with an open heart grows increasingly uncomfortable with these behaviors as their spiritual sensitivity develops. This divine discomfort serves as evidence of genuine salvation.
Perhaps most sobering is the reality that not everyone claiming to know God truly knows Him. Jesus Himself cautioned that many religious performers will be turned away at heaven's gates. Salvation comes solely through faith in Christ's sacrificial work, not through our good deeds or religious performances. As Ephesians reminds us, "God saved you by his grace when you believed... it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done."
In these increasingly challenging times, conduct a thorough heart examination. Is your heart open to receive God's word, His Spirit, divine revelation, supernatural power, and salvation through Jesus Christ? Remember, what you store in your heart will eventually manifest in your life. Where does your heart stand today?
