  • Elizabeth Bathory: Serial Killer or Political Victim?
    Jan 12 2026
She's known as history's most prolific female serial killer — a noblewoman who tortured hundreds of young girls and bathed in their blood to stay young. But what if Elizabeth Bathory was innocent, and the real monsters were the men who wanted her gone? | WEEK OF JAN 11, 2026 #WDRadio==========HOUR ONE: Reddit users share some of the strangest, creepiest, most terrifying phone calls they’ve ever received – many that left the recipient with no explanation as to what just happened. (Creepy Phone Calls) *** Elizabeth Bathory was beautiful – and wanted to stay that way. So determined was her desire for a youthful appearance that she would bathe in the blood of young girls, thinking of it as a macabre fountain of youth. But how much truth is there to this story? And are there ghosts today, haunting their residences thanks to the Blood Countess?
(Ghosts of the Blood Countess)==========HOUR TWO:
Winnie had two trunks when she arrived at the train station – trunks that contained the severed body parts of her two best friends. She had murdered them, it seems, all in the name of love. (Winnie Ruth Judd: Trunk Murderess) *** Was British government weapons inspector Dr David Kelly murdered? (Many Dark Actors: Dr. David Kelly) *** Madame Delphine LaLaurie, made popular by Kathy Bates in American Horror Story: Coven, was a first class monster. A figure of high society, she was well known for her mistreatment of slaves. But no one knew just how sick she truly was. (The Monster of Royal Street)==========SUDDEN DEATH OVERTIME: A former schoolhouse has accrued a sinister reputation as one of the most haunted, weirdest places in Japan. (Haunted Schoolhouse In Japan) *** The gold rush brought many to North Carolina – men looking to get rich, and rich men looking to get richer. But the greed also brought cruelty to some mine owners… and that cruelty sometimes brought death… and hauntings. (The Skinflint Mine Entity) *** Was a certain female reporter murdered because she knew too much about the death of John F. Kennedy? (The Dorothy Killgallen Murder) *** Something bizarre and terrifying is living below the streets of London – and there are many theories as to what it might be. • Did Our Reality Shift? The Mandela Effect in the History & Movies You Remember Wrong!
    Jan 12 2026
You remember Nelson Mandela dying in prison, the Berenstain Bears spelled differently, and Darth Vader saying "Luke, I am your father" — but none of that ever happened. From the JFK assassination to The Wizard of Oz, we're exploring the unsettling phenomenon where millions of people share the exact same false memories.

IN THIS EPISODE: Do parallel dimensions really exist? And if they do, is it possible to travel to them? Two people have stories that might have you believing you can – one of them having “Lunch In a Different Dimension”. Meanwhile, a very strange phenomenon that has been reported by vast swaths of the population is known as “The Mandela Effect” which entails a mass misremembering of events, facts, or details. These can involve everything from pop culture to historical events, and often leave those who are faced with a reality much different than they remember in shock or bewilderment. Indeed, the history that you know, read about, and are sure is set in stone may not be so at all, and there seem to be alternate mysterious timelines of history that exist side by side with our memories and the reality we think we know. Could this also be related to parallel dimensions? *** While St. Augustine gets all the attention, a small island just south of the Georgia border hides a treasure trove of paranormal legends most people have never heard of. From cursed pirate gold and a ghost who slit his own throat to avoid hanging, to phantom shoes that wander between hotel rooms, Amelia Island might be Florida's most overlooked haunted destination.

  • Ouija Boards: Innocent Toy, Parlor Game, or Dangerous Paranormal Portal?
    Jan 11 2026
The Ouija board started as a simple parlor game in 1890 — but paranormal researchers warn it might open doorways to something far more sinister. And if a spirit starts spelling out the name Zozo, you may have just made contact with one of the most dangerous entities on the other side.IN THIS EPISODE: Some believe the Ouija board is a harmless game – others feel it is a paranormal, evil portal to allow entry into our world of ghosts, dead relatives, and even demonic entities. How dangerous is the Ouija Board? (Ouija Board Dangers) *** On April 12th, 1961 the first man to ever make it into space was a Russian cosmonaut by the name of Yuri Gagarin. He is considered a hero to his country, and an inspiration worldwide to those who are fascinated by space travel. But what few do not know is that there is a theory that there was someone before Yuri Gagarin – and the story has been kept a secret. (The Cosmonaut Conspiracy) *** Apparently, if you want to have a satisfying life, it’s best to not have the name Elizabeth Brewer. • Did a Voodoo Cult Commit Louisiana's Deadliest Ax Murders?
    Jan 10 2026
Between 1911 and 1912, entire families across Louisiana and Texas were slaughtered in their sleep with an ax — their bodies sometimes arranged in prayer, their blood drained into buckets, and cryptic messages scrawled on the walls. A 17-year-old girl confessed to 35 of the murders, claimed she belonged to a secret voodoo cult called the Church of Sacrifice — and then vanished into history.

IN THIS EPISODE: A series of ax murders took place in Louisiana and Texas. Gruesome as they were, they began to horrify the public even more when they were admitted to by a teenaged voodoo priestess. Despite her confession though, a pair of authors say that there was someone else in the area at the time even more dangerous and who likely did most of the killing unbeknownst to even the voodoo priestess. That man is know simply as “The Man From The Train”. Plus, we’ll look a few more gruesome ax murders that took place in the 1800s.

  • Gertrude Baniszewski | The Woman Who Charged Neighborhood Kids a Nickel to Watch Her Torture a Girl
    Jan 9 2026
In 1965, a carnival worker left his two daughters in the care of a struggling Indianapolis mother for $20 a week. What followed was one of the most horrific cases of torture and murder in American history — despite dozens of people knowing it was happening.

IN THIS EPISODE: Gertrude Baniszewski – a woman whose evil ran so deep, it flowed through her children and their friends and displayed itself in the torture, mutilation and murder of a young girl. (Torture Mother) *** On January 2, 1935, a man who signed the guest register as “Roland T. Owen” checked into the President Hotel in Kansas City, Missouri – and never checked out. (The Man in Room 1046) *** If you ask a dying loved one to try and reach you from the other side when they finally pass away, don’t be surprised if they follow up on that promise. (My Mom’s Wake) *** The last cabin standing along the beach at Hunting Island State Park is a celebrity among locals and visitors as folks have taken to a love affair with the little blue cabin’s fight against nature over the past few years. Oh… and it also appears to be haunted. (Little Blue Ocean Cabin)

  • The Girl At The Bar Told Me That She Was Satan, I Believed Her When She Said Hell Is Already Here
    Jan 8 2026
A disheveled stranger sat down next to me at a London bar and claimed to be the Devil. By the time she finished telling me the truth about Hell, I believed every word.

IN THIS EPISODE: It’s the classic horror story, “The Man Who Returned” by Edmond Hamilton. Originally published in 1934, "The Man Who Returned" is an effective horror story. Since first transmitting its sad and cynical realism from the pages of Weird Tales, it has been reprinted in numerous collections of stories from that magazine, as well as in a 1980 volume entitled “Fear! Fear! Fear!” *** I’ve pulled out what I hope you’ll agree is definitely worth the “creepy” part of creepypasta. It was found on Reddit, written by user AThousandRows. The original title of the story is “I Met Someone Who Claimed To Be The Devil... And I Believed Them.”
